[06:59] Got it. Nice. [06:59] !test [06:59] Testing... Testing... 1. 2.. 3... [06:59] Was just configuring colors. [07:00] Is this thing on? :P [07:00] This is not the place to test such things though, of course. [07:01] True. But what comes next is indeed what belongs, I believe. [07:01] In Kubuntu 16.04.2 (I'm in the live CD) any reasons why GUI is all flickery? [07:02] I have an Acer laptop where the scren literally flashes on and off, but it stops when I move the mouse around. [07:03] Other than the GUI glitches, this distro looks nice. [07:05] Well, that's definitely related to the used graphics card and/or driver - didn't happen to me when I tested it the last time (same version) on two different computers. [07:06] Ah okay. I should probably start there. Thanks. :) [07:06] I must be off... *Poof!* [07:08] Cool, found an IRC client :o [07:09] Good morning. === totte_ is now known as Tott3 === Tott3 is now known as Tottel [07:15] Okay, I haven't used IRC since 1995 or something. [07:20] Solved it 8-) === Tott3 is now known as Tottel [08:05] Are there any way to remove "scrolling-thru-tabs" in Chrome and make it launch no-border by default? [08:08] Tottel in chrome configuration---- aspect [08:09] Tottel: For the second one adjust the kwin program settings. [08:09] Tottel: alt + F3 -> more actions -> special application settings. [08:11] Sweet, found it. Which argument to use? Force? [08:12] lordievader: or just no argument at all? [08:13] Remember seems to work as I want, cheers. [08:18] I have it set to apply initially [08:18] Else my toggle hotkey no longer works ;) [08:20] Toggle between tabs? [08:35] No, between hiding the border and showing it. [08:45] Ah, seems to be working for me, but good to keep in mind if problems would start appearing :P [09:54] Is it somehow possible to make a unified inbox in Kmail? === morgan is now known as yossarianuk [10:15] Hi folks [10:30] help! "baloo_file_extractor" is being a pain in the ass since yesterday. It will start running consuming up to 25% of the CPU out of nowhere [10:31] Whatcan I do to stop it? [10:33] mas886, systemsettings>search [10:34] >file search, uncheck "enable file search" [10:36] mas886, it might just be indexing your files which doesn't go on forever [10:36] BluesKaj: The problem is that it goes on forever. [10:36] Seems stalled somehow. [10:37] ok then kill it in system monitor [10:37] BluesKaj: I kill it but then it reappears stronger after some time. I need some help. I'm trying to install 16.04 LTS to repair a damaged installation, but I'm having grief. [17:25] Main disk (sda1) is a 320GB IDE which has had linux on previously, but the install is now hanging at "Saving installed packages (0%)" and it's been like that approaching an hour. [17:37] PullMyPaw, is said pc connected to the internet? [17:43] Yes, I'm using it in a live session right now :) [17:47] Will that slow things down, the fact that I'm installing from the same disk running the live session? [17:47] so the installer(Ubiquity) stalls, there was a bug in the older images where ubiquity would fail. Is this a recent iso ? [17:49] I notice it's not the current version, but I need an LTS onboard, as opposed to a 6 monthly upgrading one. [17:49] Yes, I only downloaded it about 2 weeks ago. I burned it to USB stick using UNetbootin [17:51] I'll hunt down a fresh ISO i think, reburn it and start again. Plasma and kwin keep dying on this disk too, it might be worth going back to the drawing board. [17:51] PullMyPaw, we need to be the actual iso itself is current [17:51] sure [17:51] how would I find that out? [17:56] It's a bit more than 2 weeks, apparently, it's 4 weeks. It was downloaded 2/28/17. [17:56] PullMyPaw, http://www.kubuntu.org/getkubuntu/ Kubuntu 16.04.2 LTS [17:56] that's the latest image [17:56] aha. This is 16.04.1 [17:56] Righ, that settles it :D [17:56] right, then that might solve your problem [17:57] I'll nip off and grab that, burn it, and off we go again! I might have this working before I go to bed tonight :) [17:57] Thanks for that, I'll be back later. [17:57] PaulW2U_, keep us posted, and let us know if your next install is trouble free [17:58] Tabcomplete fail :) [17:58] err PullMyPaw :-) [17:58] Never mind, I know who you meant!
