[01:23] <flickeringscreen> the screen flickers a bit, then its okay, then flickers again, happens least in mate

[01:23] <nomic> well. after those massive updates, it requires reboot
[01:23] <flickeringscreen> most in unity, though i may just be getting used to it

[01:23] <nomic> = compiz .. which can be turned off
[01:23] <nomic> you may solve it by turning compiz .. or "effects" off .. if this does not work
