[09:57] Morning peoples, critters and everything else [12:30] ./21 [12:30] oops [12:30] MORNING! [13:39] yes [13:39] ChinnoDog: we do [13:39] we have 2 loungesthough [13:40] one downtown, which has some seating in the store and then a bar upstairs [13:40] and in the northeast, which is our retail operations center and also our members lounge [15:03] ffs, I just rebooted a day and a half ago, and I have a message saying I need to reboot again for some other changes. [15:04] This is linux. I shouldn't have to reboot 3x a week for updates. [16:04] yes you should. you can always go back to Windows which never tells you you have to reboot it just does it for you [16:04] or something close to that [16:58] Actually it does both! [17:01] MutantTurkey: Have you sampled all the merchandise? [17:02] MutantTurkey: can you get me a deal on some DE Javas? haha [17:02] most of the merchandize i have tried at one tme or another [17:02] jthan: srsly? [17:02] lol I mean... [17:02] If you had a serious means I wouldn't be opposed to working something out. [17:02] They're one of my favorites. Unfortunately I find they don't benefit much from aging. [17:02] you need to smoke some better cigars bro [17:03] I've never found a infused cigar that aged well [17:03] Tell us about good cigars. [17:03] I don't smoke them often. Right now I've got a full humidor of these [17:03] http://www.leafbyoscarcigar.com/shop/leaf-by-oscar/ [17:03] I would stick to reputable brands in the 8-12 dollar price range [17:03] anything Fuente or Pepin is basically a slam dunk [17:03] I smoke other stuff from RP/DE. Padron natural 3000's aren't a bad choice [17:04] I usually stick to my pipe. [17:04] Bust out the cigars when I'm sharing. [17:04] also, Ashton, Tatjue, San Cristobal, La Aroma De Cuba, Oliva, Padron, [17:04] jthan: what kinda pipe ya got [17:04] what ya smokin in it? any good mixes? [17:04] Have a few. My favorite is a Savinelli. Goto tobacco is usually dunhill elizabethan or orlik golden sliced [17:04] been jizzin over this delicious 'old dublin' stuff from peterson lately, it's great [17:04] ooh old dublin is nice [17:04] a little heavy for me [17:04] Try out some peterson mixes if you get a chance [17:04] I tend to get bit from peterson blends [17:04] they're all around good, though their aromatics aren't so good imo [17:05] I have a few pipes, like 3 petersons, 2 Kaywoodies ( i love them ), and a handful of corncobs floating around [17:05] I'm a big dunhill guy. My goto english at this point is missisippi river from the seattle pipe club [17:05] kaywoodies are so awesome for the price! [17:05] ja [17:05] dude e-bay [17:05] so many great pipes on ebay [17:06] I've got two savs and two petersons. That usually is enough for me. Keep one smaller pete at work [17:06] i just keep getting more and more [17:06] they hand them out once an a while at work [17:06] haha. I'm never going to be a daily smoker if I had to guess. [17:06] idk where they all went though... i am so unorganized [17:06] So no sense in me buying too many. [17:06] probably one in each car, two at home, 4 on the rack here [17:06] jthan: well, different pipes for different occasions [17:06] imo [17:06] i have a nice big bulldog one i use for loner smokes [17:07] I do want a bulldog at some point [17:07] I think it's such a rad looking style [17:07] corncob for on the go or ridiuckously long smokes [17:07] Also if I ever felt like I had to spend multiple hundreds on a pipe I'd get a castello probably [17:07] meh [17:08] their bent pots for some reason appeal to me [17:08] two corncobs definitely worth it [17:08] http://corncobpipe.com/macarthur-classic-corn-cob-pipe.html [17:08] the macarthur is ridiculously fun to smoke [17:08] and anything from the cobbit line, http://corncobpipe.com/the-wizard-cobbit.html lince long churchwarden style good for while you're working [17:08] Can honestly say I've seen it but haven't smoked one. [17:08] corncobs are very underrated [17:09] Oh I don't mind a cob [17:09] And I do think they smoke really well [17:09] most of them* [17:09] depends [17:09] if you get a junky one just buy another pipe they're dirt cheap [17:09] and you can' really fuck em up [17:09] worse case you burn em and then just chuck it [17:09] http://corncobpipe.com/10-pipe-grab-bag-of-smokable-seconds.html [17:09] for 30 bucks you get 10 pipes [17:09] good for having around if you have friends that like cigars and might wanna try a pipe [17:09] I usually keep a $5-10 on hand to hand out for a friend [17:09] ^ exactly. [17:09] right [17:09] if they want to try a pipe [17:10] ayup [17:12] What makes a corncob a corncob? I'm guessing it is not literally a cob of corn. [17:12] It is! [17:13] oh. So a drilled out cob that has been finished? [17:13] Yeah, usually the inside is not very finished at all [17:13] just the outside has a coating to protect it [17:13] They must wear out or go limp or something after awhile. [17:14] "go limp" [17:14] lol [17:14] They do "wear out" over time. But so do briarwood pipes. That amount of time tends to be a VERY large number of smokes though. [17:15] Tobacco doesn't burn as hot as people imagine though [17:15] especially if you smoke it right... [17:16] I was thinking more about moisture from your breath being absorbed on the interior. [17:16] and moisture from the burning tobacco [17:17] but, you let them rest between smokes, keep a pipe cleaner in there to absorb a lot of it, and store it in a way that it "drains" [17:17] it isn't too significant [17:19] tyup it's literally made out of corn [17:20] depends on how the wear out [17:20] if you smoke em hard, no resting, etc it can cause problems [17:20] but in my experience not to much work needs to be dne to keep them in good shape [17:20] Less than briar, imo [17:20] Less cake in a cob for me [17:24] Next time I am in Philly will have to smoke some cigars. [17:24] we should go meet up there. [17:24] I may be planning a trip in August/September [17:24] I know that's awhile out [17:38] September would be better for me. My lease ends in August and idk where I am going yet. [17:39] Yeah, I'd probably rather come in September anyway [17:39] in hopes of it being slightly cooler [17:39] * ChinnoDog moves into a pile of cardboard boxes where rent is affordable [17:39] You don't want to move here, then... [17:39] $1390/750 sq. feet 1BR [17:53] i have to move... stinks [17:53] in june
