[22:33] <mullr> I'm trying to recover from a failed dist-upgrade from 16.04 to 16.10. lightdm won't come up for me, and it appears the greeter is at fault. /var/log/lightdm/seat0-greeter.log tells me of a "symbol lookup error" in libmirprotobuf.so.3. Any thoughts? https://bugs.launchpad.net/timeshift/+bug/1516255 advises purging the associated packages and reinstalling, but that does has no effect for me. Any thoughts?

[22:44] <mullr> ugh, I seem to have some libprotof libraries hanging around in /usr/local/lib, from where I can't remember. Diagnosed with ldd on the lib in question. Removal fixes the issue.
