[12:05] morning [12:06] morning [12:22] Happy Monday [12:29] Morning [12:43] My son caught a cold on the last weekend of spring break. [12:49] thanks murphy [13:16] Yeah, we spent the last 2 days of great weather in the house [13:19] oh... :( that sucks. [13:19] yea, was nice to get to walk the boy to school this morning [13:21] oh nice! [13:39] I should try that. We're about 1/4 mile as the crow flies, but 3/4 to 3 miles depending on how flooded the swamp is [13:53] heh, yea. It's a little under a mile each way. So makes for a couple of good 20min walks there/back I try to get away from the computer when I can [13:53] and if we can ride bikes it's fast [13:53] nice [14:38] ok wow, now I wish I hadn't watched that united fiasco video... [14:39] eh? [14:40] twitter is alight with condemnation for the united removal of a passenger from the plane they overbooked. [14:40] https://twitter.com/JayseDavid/status/851223662976004096 is the latest version to come across my feed [14:44] Wow [14:44] I would be so pissed if I missed a flight because it was overbooked [14:45] well there's that but this is they let you on the plane, sit into a seat, and then dragged you off? [14:45] Seriously, that's some shit [14:45] And they wonder why people don't want to fly anymore [14:47] There's the "We fucked up, here's a voucher" approach [14:47] and there's the "We're assholes" approach [14:48] not to be all "thank goodness *I* fly Delta" but https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurabegleybloom/2017/04/09/why-delta-air-lines-paid-me-11000-not-to-fly-to-florida-this-weekend/#7fb60a714de1 [14:49] Yeah, I'm glad my last flight was on Delta. [14:50] I dunno, our CEO was stuck in LAX for 3+ days this weekend because Delta's clusterfuck. He had to just go buy a ticket for a different airline. [14:50] Got there thursday and ended up flying out through soutwest sunday [14:50] southwest* [14:50] Wow [14:50] That's awful [14:50] #allAirlinesSuck :( [14:52] I think today is trying to killme [14:52] Sitting in the cafe over at Macomb [14:52] and between the service dog and Axe body spray I'm going to asphyxiate [14:54] So the dog is strangling you because you are wearing Axe? [14:54] That took some effort to misread didn't it? :) [15:06] Yes [15:55] Company that I applied to is apparently asking for 5+ years of NodeJS experience. [15:55] good luck with that. [15:56] We have a guy apply that claimed he had 11 years of Angular [15:57] Is there another tech called "Angular" that isn't AngularJs? [15:59] not that I know of [15:59] He hardly spoke english so I am pretty sure the recruiter was just an ass [16:01] Ugh. That sucks. [16:01] Recruiter also told us he had 9/10 communication skills and we could hardly understand eachother with almost no comprehension [16:01] I think they fired that recruiter after that though [16:02] I feel bad for the dude. I wonder if he was coached into this position. [16:02] yeah [16:02] We had that a lot too with recruiters pushing jrs into sr interviews and stuff [16:02] was just uncomfortable for everyone [16:03] Yeah, no joke [16:08] It's kind of difficult because if they were good enough to be able to accurately judge people they wouldn't be recruiters because they'd make more as devs [16:08] or as dev managers [16:10] That's why I always prefer internal recruiters [16:11] It's less playing the numbers game and they can usually test for culture [19:52] http://imgur.com/r4lz7u9 [19:52] haha [19:53] The tail disturbs me [19:54] heh
