[17:47] blacklisting... wine and lmms-vst-server ... reading the germinate man page, blacklisting these two will only keep germinate from adding these to the list handed to apt. This is why the blacklisting fails... apt just reads in the recomends. [17:51] The meta is just a control file with seeds as deps/recomends. Is it possible to to use one of the fields in the control file Conflicts? [17:54] Of course then a user would have to remove the meta package (should not break anything, but confusing for sure) in order to install wine etc. [21:24] that's not good... [21:25] :D [22:17] eylul: we can make a dummy package that replaces the lmms-vst-server and install that first. [22:19] ovenwerks: ok.. how would that affect somebody who is trying to actually install lmms-vst-server from the repo? [22:20] eylul: we may even be able to get away with installing it for the live version only so it is installed and then removed... [22:20] eylul: when lmms-vst-server was installed it would warn the user it was removing no-vst [22:21] ohhhh [22:21] (or lmms-no-vst) [22:22] I would suggest calling that something different since there is a lmms package for installing... lmms without the vst support (one we should have by default :) ) [22:22] but the idea sounds like a solution? :) [22:28] The package should probably be called ubuntustudio-no-wine or something like that. The lmms guys might be miffed otherwise.
