I'll send you the link in like 30 minutes [21:09] \o/ [21:12] elopio: bunch of us are about - but no cams - what's the irc channel? [21:12] i don't mind at all if it is/can be this one [21:12] flocculant: #ubuntu-on-air [21:12] ta [21:13] i guess we can do that too ;) [21:42] evening all [21:42] hellooooo [21:42] cutieface [21:44] hi bluesabre [21:44] bluesabre: We're all happy you're here. [21:45] :D [21:45] and there [21:45] and everywhere [21:47] bluesabre: (and anybody else who wants to join the call) https://hangouts.google.com/hangouts/_/zgol3c2iwbhknftpa62ahngscqe [21:47] elopio, do we have the link for followers? [21:47] for people who just want to watch, and participate on IRC ubuntuonair.com [21:47] ok, cheers [21:48] knome: sorinello is here too. :P [21:49] yepp :P [21:49] whatever! [21:49] :P [21:49] ha ha [21:50] Seems you don't keep track of your channels, knome. [21:50] no, i don't keep track of sorinello's channels [21:50] I do. [21:50] that's your headache ;) [21:51] it's easy to keep track of me, I'm everywhere :) [21:51] you also feel free to ask questions in #ubuntu-on-air during the hangout [21:56] ok, so I can drop hangouts and watch the youtube live stream ? [21:56] because I don't have any questions :) [22:00] Hey guys, come join :) [22:00] bluesabre: no cam [22:00] bluesabre: I've got it open! [22:00] me too! [22:00] and 3 other people! [22:01] nothing on youtube [22:01] now there is [22:01] ok, started now [22:01] hello sean! [22:20] elopio: you'll find that we're answering questions on irc as well [22:24] flocculant: irc session date? [22:24] location [22:25] bluesabre: it's in this channel - at 19:00 UTc on the 12th [22:32] bluesabre: nice one :) [22:32] great work [22:33] congratulations :D [22:33] thanks for the reminder knome :) [22:34] no worries :) [22:34] the tile from ubuntuonair.com is "Ubuntu Testing Day – Xubuntu" .. but this seemed like a general overview of xubuntu [22:34] +1. Very nice bluesabre. [22:35] thanks again elopio [22:35] sorinello, I was prompted with "it will be a casual conversation" so I went with that :D [22:35] oh damn, I still suck at this, I started talking with Sean focused :) [22:36] bluesabre, no, I think it is my mistake here. I see there is a playlist on Ubuntu on Air called "Ubuntu Testing Days" .. hence my confusion, I imagined this was a testing stream :)) [22:36] no problemo, folks can work out where the words are coming from :) [22:37] but it's actually totally something else [22:39] sorinello: if it had been the qa team in the seat it might well have been more that way [22:39] sorinello: yes, we test during the whole friday, but on the hangout we just talk about random stuff. [22:39] but it wasn't ;) [22:39] elopio, you might want to check out https://github.com/knomepasi/ubuntu-community-wordpress-theme/ for the uoa website... [22:40] flocculant: Fine, next time you can take the call. :> [22:40] elopio, it's a wordpress theme that's designed to look like the new ubuntu.com and replace the old "light" theme UOA is using as well... screenshot at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/knomepasi/ubuntu-community-wordpress-theme/master/ubuntu-community/screenshot.png [22:40] Unit193: I was testing the webcam - to destruction [22:40] :))) [22:40] so next friday is the actual QA session on IRC [22:41] Yes [22:41] Do attend :) [22:41] knome: looking nice. I would prefer not to deal with the wordpress there though... I will tell José. [22:41] elopio, ack, feel free to point him to me :) [22:41] sorinello: yea - which I will be running - with a big stick in hand ;) [22:42] flocculant, I hope I'll be able to attend, maye some long time questions will be answered [22:42] sorinello: there will be a mail to our mail lists during the week with set homework [22:42] knome: would you help adjusting the theme there? That would be great. [22:42] sorinello, you can always ask any questions on the channel [22:42] elopio, sure. [22:42] knome: what's your email, to write you with José CC. [22:42] pasi@shimmerproject.org [22:42] :D [22:43] knome, I know, and I do ask :) just that I feel I need to know more before trying to help with testing. I have a QA background [22:43] elopio: What other interviews do you have coming up? [22:43] sorinello: then just jump in - like the rest of QA did ;) [22:44] sorinello: As mentioned in another channel, ISO tests are great, not a lot of them happen, specifically on hardware. [22:44] if it's an IS maintained site, just send them a RT asking them to add this theme for your installation (they've promised to maintain it centrally) [22:44] Unit193: We still have to talk about kubuntu, ubuntu gnome, ubuntu kylin, ubuntu studio [22:44] sorinello: and re the session next week - if no-one shows up - it won't run [22:44] one that is done the rest is easy, as i imagine you have admin access to the site :) [22:44] and then we jump to other cousins, like elementary and neon. And then we jump farther and talk about other distros like fedora and opensuse. [22:45] flocculant, Unit193 : I am using Xubuntu for 4 years now, on real machines and also on VM's .. I usually update 2-3 days after the release, but I could switch some of the VM's to dev channel, since I am not using critical systems [22:45] well, that's the plan in my head anyway. I need to find all the contacts. Every week we just find what to talk about that friday. [22:46] elopio: Sounds like a lot of interviews. [22:46] Unit193: yes, but we have a lot of fridays to fill [22:46] Unit193: if you would like to learn about something, let me know and we'll throw it to the schedule. [22:47] Unit193, maybe a presentation of xubuntu-core :) [22:47] elopio: I wondered if you were moving on to other related flavors, or other teams. You answered, thanks. [22:47] sorinello: That's really just a subset of Xubuntu, not a different flavor. [22:47] sorinello: if you've qa background you could look at the package tests we use - maybe come up with some ideas? you can add yourself to the qa blueprint work items :) [22:48] Unit193, : yeah I know, I'm also using that. very useful [22:48] https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/xubuntu-a-qa and http://packages.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/377/builds/146768/testcases [22:49] anyway - it's almost tomorrow again - night all :) [22:49] flocculant, thing is that my qa background is not related to os testing, and I have a lot of gray areas to fill :) [22:49] background is background :) [22:49] yeah, here is already tomorrow, so mighty night all :) [22:49] I don't work with computers at all - nor ever did ... [22:57] (Also if we did an 'Xubuntu core' one, I'd have to do the talking which is a nogo.) [22:57] Unit193: btw, thanks for jumping in and fielding questions [22:57] bluesabre: Of course! Happy to help since you're doing all the talking. [22:58] Dinner time for me, bbl [22:58] Eat well.
