slashdsil2100, good day, I have a question for you ... we are currently working on a fix for ebtables package. The upstream project is un-maintained anymore since 2015 in favour of nft project (where all the development is happening now) and we have submitted a bug in Debian to commit and upload our patch but no news as well after a couples of weeks. With that being said how can we make our patch land in Ubuntu to accomodate12:05
slashdusers having this particular bug ? (LP: #1645324)12:05

slashdSRU team ? rbasak ? ^^^^12:33
apwslashd, if you have a fix for it, it sounds like something that can be sru#d12:34
slashdapw, even if not merged at any other level such as upstream or debian due to no longer maintain ?12:35
apwslashd, it is not uncommon to apply a fix locally first, and then it may get replaced by an "official" fix later12:35
slashdapw, ok thanks so I'll proceed with the upload then12:36
apwslashd, though as you have submitted it to debian the chances are the fix if it ever gets applied, would match12:36
apwslashd, so not in need to any modification if and when debian does apply it12:36
slashdthank you very much apw12:37
cyphermoxahoneybun: the real fix for that is to not use a background at all; just the screenshot you need and properly insert it in the right place in the html of the slide13:30
cyphermox(the grey header is already included in the slideshow code, and the background color is something you can set in CSS anyway.13:31

cyphermoxhi, could someone please review and accept grub2 (amd64 and arm64) in artful NEW queue?17:29
maprerirbasak: Gianfranco asked me to tell you please move virtualbox-ext-pack to release too, not only virtualbox (as otherwise update in systems with both installed is broken)17:47

ahoneybuncyphermox: well I wanted to use certain colors and don't like css/html too much18:54
cyphermoxahoneybun: well, it doesn't work and your colors look like very nearly the same as provided on the system anyway (the header in your image is just slightly lighter)18:56
ahoneybuncyphermox: I see I did set that color myself so working on getting it right18:57
cyphermoxahoneybun: I think we're talking past each other18:57
cyphermoxare you looking to have a different color than what is  currently there for the header?18:57
cyphermoxor are you trying to make the "background" match the color of the header?18:58
ahoneybuncyphermox: I was using an image as the whole thing18:58
cyphermoxyes18:58
ahoneybunand the problem was that the test-slideshow was using a smaller size then the real one18:58
cyphermoxyeah, that shouldn't be an issue18:58
ahoneybungetting rid of the image and just going with css background-color18:58
ahoneybunshould have something to merge by the end of the weekend18:59
cyphermoxif you use just the screenshot for the image you want to appear on screen and putting it in the right div tag (use an example from another flavour) should work18:59
cyphermox(ie. you don't need to have the image be the whole slide, or have a header, or anything like that)18:59
ahoneybunyea that was my problem19:00
ahoneybuntrying to avoid css/html xD19:00
cyphermoxplease don't, it should be trivial anyway, you should be able to just copy-paste from another release19:00
cyphermox*flavour19:00
cyphermoxotherwise you need to repeat the same process for every slide, whereas with CSS you set the theming once and you're done19:01
cyphermoxtbf, I don't "enjoy" doing html and css either, but sometimes that's the best way to do things, and it's much less yucky than other languages19:01
slangasek'perhaps set LP_DISABLE_SSL_CERTIFICATE_VALIDATION if certificate validation failed and you genuinely trust the remote server.'19:12
slangasekperhaps never ever recommend such things in a stack trace message19:12
naccslangasek: oh was that in the backtrace of those earlier failures? or something else19:13
slangaseknacc: apport retracer crash19:13
naccslangasek: ah fun19:14
cjwatsonmaybe it should be LP_ROOT_ME_PLEASE19:19
naccheh19:20
cjwatson(I do sometimes use LP_DISABLE_SSL_CERTIFICATE_VALIDATION, but only against a development instance, and never with anything to do with apport ...)19:20
