[09:02] would i need to open any firewall ports server side too? [09:03] define, google auth? [09:04] as part of 2FA for a web page on my server [09:04] using a gogle authenticator TOTP android app for example [09:04] so you mean using something like yubico's autehntication server? [09:04] to create 2fa codes. [09:05] yes [09:05] as far as i am aware it all works over https, although i may be totally wrong. [09:06] https between client and server? [09:06] my main questino is that if the server was in a secure environment with no outgoing internet allowed, would it work? [09:06] good question. [09:07] google auth is client side [09:07] i think so, but i need to find out. [09:07] it's a counter thing [09:07] thanks popey , i might run a quick test on a demo server to ensure no external connection required to initiate when setting this up too [09:08] i was just going to say, a yubikey for example, does have a time counter so cant directly use totp except through apps like yubikey authenticator. [09:08] doesnt have* [09:13] my main interest is the server side implementation [09:16] counter based 2fa solutions don't need network, same as yubikey, and 2fa python app [09:22] How many of you guys use a yubikey? [09:25] * brobostigon has three. [09:26] my fiance also uses one, on my advice. [09:33] Which do you recommend ? I was looking at the YubiKey4 ? [09:35] i have a 4 and a neo, the 4 allows for larger keys, but the neo has nfc. [09:36] I'd like it for KeePassXC too, but it appears you need to use keepass prof. Will take a look at the neo though thanks. [09:37] :) [09:56] Seems someones wrote the code for yubikey for xc now, will tinker once I've ordered [09:57] In release 2.2.0 when it comes out if anyone is interested [11:14] didn't yubikey go all proprietary for v4? [11:30] dunno, i have an old one, never needed to replace it [11:30] in fact I have about 20 spare ones. I should probably lob them on fleabay [11:33] Lob one my way popey if you like, can transfer moolah :) [11:34] I'll dig them all out a bit later [11:34] * popey gets a post-it note [11:34] hah, its funny we're all technical yet post it notes are on my desk too :) [11:35] I don't have to alt-tab to see them :) [11:35] Similar to me, bottom of my screen [11:58] is there a reliable UK centric service that would show which platforms a film is availabel to stream from? [12:25] foobarry: https://www.justwatch.com/uk [12:41] brilliant, thanks [12:41] np [12:42] hmm [12:42] https://www.justwatch.com/uk/movie/hacksaw-ridge [12:42] but https://play.google.com/store/movies/details/Hacksaw_Ridge?id=RfeKIO2VBsI [12:42] doesn't show the googles [12:44] not sure if i'll watch it anyway, mel gibson seems obsessed with graphic violence [12:44] haven't seen his other directed films as a result [13:18] the justwatch url you posted doesn't show it on google play [13:19] oh, that's what you said :) [13:31] popey: Did you know that The Google Effects and Draw apps will no longer work after April 25, 2017? [13:33] "will" [13:34] I think the correct term is "won't, since" not "will not, after" because the date is in the past [13:34] although, please don't ever say "it does this since ages" [13:35] since requires a finite datetime and cannot be used on an open-ended timescale [13:37] Thanks Seeker` [13:37] Theeker. [13:37] Look around you! [13:37] Seeker`: ok, if you insist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBaVwwuErmU [13:39] I remember the night, scratching at my door. furry small and white, I shook you by the paw [13:39] MEDIBOT [13:40] multipass? [13:40] that poem makes me think of funnybones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZYsUOZmRwM [14:20] !lts [14:20] LTS means Long Term Support. LTS versions are supported for 5 years on the desktop and server. The latest LTS version of Ubuntu is !Xenial (Xenial Xerus 16.04). Ubuntu !flavors may have different support durations, check their release notes for information. [20:42] So, ... how unsafe is it to use 'steam' on ubuntu, these days - would I be throwing away all my security? etc [20:50] i have never managed to get steam working, never mind play anything through it, lolz. [20:52] so i couldnt say. [20:54] okie, thanks for your contribuition, nonetheless [20:55] It workks for me fine in Win10 or at least it did, I rarely use it [20:56] ah ok. [20:58] been having an issue with sound quality and Java. It degrades slowly over say 10 seconds. If I change the sound settings "play through" it works for a while again [20:58] I thought I would try my windows vm but it even happens over the windows VM. [20:58] I can listen to spotify web player and rythm box all day without issues
