[02:13] z. [05:18] i use zfs. it was a breeze === j is now known as Guest40458 [05:19] i dont remember about it, iut just works. did it last year sometime [05:19] zfs is awesome. google setting up a zfs tank. really speeds up a disk array [05:20] see you all later === moondoggy_ is now known as moondoggy [13:06] I'm having issues with Lutris, where during game install the Wine windows(Mono Installer, etc.) appear as small black lines in centre of screen so can't expand or use. Has anyone had this issue and know how to fix it? [14:23] !drm [14:31] hi [15:23] wow! I didn't expect the installer to open a IRC even if it did have a link. *I love you linux. I missed you so much these past few years.* [15:24] Gotta love live usb [15:25] Yes. although when I used an actual thumb drive, the install broke. [15:26] I think it was UEFI that was interfering. [15:26] I even broke the thumb drive installer. [15:27] So this time I put it on a DVD-RW and it seems to be doing fine. [15:28] Reboot time, wish me luck for this time. [15:31] Luck [17:30] well, here I am again. and in a worse predicament than I was before... [17:32] Grub wouldn't boot, so I googled how. Now I seem to have set windows bootloader to grub and linux still won't boot... [17:33] except now I can't boot back to windows either. [17:34] So here I am on the liveCD. Thank God that that still works! [17:35] Any advice from you guys? [18:01] Transference: if you have boot issues, the output of the boot repair script is very valuable: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Info [18:02] You can also ask in #ubuntu, as it's not specific to a desktop environment [18:08] Thank you, I'm installing boot-info now. [18:10] I'm not sure if it's the desktop environment or not. [18:19] Okay. https://paste2.org/YKV3kb29 [18:20] So I guess I need to run Boot-repair and turn UEFI back on? [18:24] If you have windows, you need to put it back to whatever it initially was, otherwise it won't boot [18:24] And, fix ubuntu so that it boots with that [18:25] I don't have time to look into it now, but it looks like you have uefi windows, and you tried to installed ubuntu in bios mode? [18:26] That might mean you created an ubuntu stick the wrong way, and it didn't boot/install in efu [18:26] *uefi [18:26] So put it back to uefi mode, and then fix ubuntu to boot in uefi mode. You'll need to boot in uefi mode from your live stick to do that. [18:26] E I E I Oh [18:27] I tried installing ubuntu yesterday. Similar trouble, but it messed up the usb installer as well. [18:28] I googled the problem and it said Uefi was the problem and to turn it off. [18:28] I will go do what you said. Thank you. [20:06] Hey alkisg, Thank you for you help earlier. [21:27] Hola?
