[00:17] <Guest72500> actually sorry about that, i did manage to get past grub rescue and the grub screen now just lists linux mint which doesn't exist anymore as i formatted it

[00:18] <Guest72500> like if i could just get windows onto grub or get back to the windows boot loader instead of grub that would be great

[22:34] <jtatria> redphant23 i would start by trying to fix the installed system... that is probably a matter of figuring out where the drives are located now from a recovery session. but the details depend a lot on your local setup, and i have no exerience with LVM.

[22:37] <jtatria> redphant23 i think the problem lies in LVM. probably adding the extra HD broke the LVM configuration, and I bet you are mounting /home from the lvm volume, which would explain why the kernel boots, but the session manager hangs.
