kDycuHi! I'm on lubuntu 14 and I don't seem to have lxsession-default-apps06:42
tsimonq2kDycu: Lubuntu 14.04 LTS is no longer officially supported by the Lubuntu team.07:03
tsimonq2kDycu: It's supported by Ubuntu/Canonical, the base is, but Lubuntu 14.04 as a desktop is no longer supported.07:04
tsimonq2kDycu: That being said, I'll try to help you anyways. :)07:04
tsimonq2kDycu: Why don't you just install lxsession-default-apps? :P07:04
kDycuapt-get doesn't seem to be able to find it07:05
kDycuI'm sort of chained to 14.04 because upgrading seems to break the one completely unsupported/abandoned program I need my lubuntu install for07:06
tsimonq2kDycu: And what program is that?07:06
kDycuIt's complicated-- but it's essentially a bit of emulation software for a pinball game07:07
kDyculike an actual physical real world cabinet07:07
kDycuit's called Pinbox07:07
tsimonq2Oh, interesting.07:07
tsimonq2And just out of curiosity, why does that chain you to 14.04? :)07:08
kDycuthe way it autostarts seems to break if I upgrade further07:08
kDycuIt autostarts out of init.d which if I understand correctly is no longer used after 1407:09
kDycuI tried upgrading to 16 a few days and found that out :/07:09
kDycuthe only reason I wanted to upgrade was to try and solve an intermittent no audio problem on boot, and I was sort of hoping upgrading would fix it07:10
tsimonq2Ah, ok.07:10
tsimonq2kDycu: How'd you install the emulation software?07:10
tsimonq2Is it in the repos somewhere or via another website?07:10
kDycuit came packaged as a live disc install07:11
kDycuit's technically "warez" so it's unobtanium at this point07:11
kDycuI just have a copy saved somewhere from when it was available07:11
kDycubut it's literally the only option I have for running these pinball machines. they came out in 2000 and the proprietary hardware is long since dead. Pinbox is a cracked version of Nucore which was for like a year a brief modern solution but they've been on indefinite hiatus for several years now07:13
tsimonq2This is interesting...07:14
tsimonq2I've never had this sort of situation before07:14
tsimonq2Right now I'm playing locally with an LXD container and seeing if I can run X apps in that07:14
tsimonq2kDycu: Because if you only have a binary and not a tarball, an option could be to update your system but containerize this application in a 14.04 environment07:15
tsimonq2Oh no he left07:19
tsimonq2Anyways, I think this is interesting enough to play with it locally07:19
tsimonq2Maybe I'll write a blog post or something07:19
NinjaKirbyCould I be cheeky and ask, what 'command' should I use with Lubuntu 16.04.1 in a cron job to restart the machine?09:41
NinjaKirbyI've done a little research and apparently different distributions don't all use "@reboot"09:43
tsimonq2NinjaKirby: Lubuntu works with @reboot :)09:55
NinjaKirbyAh, many thanks tsimonq2 :)10:14
Zborgis upgrading from 16.10 to 17.04 on a public network via do-release-upgrade safe?12:11

wxlLimaDELTA: yep. you can do `xrandr | pastebinit` if you have pastebinit installed, which will print out a url to the pastebin, which you can copy here17:56
wxlmore info:17:56
wxl!pastebinit17:56
ubottupastebinit is the command-line equivalent of !pastebin - Command output, or other text can be redirected to pastebinit, which then reports an URL containing the output - To use pastebinit, install the « pastebinit » package from a package manager - Simple usage: command | pastebinit17:56
