giovannii already installed the new language trought language support but it isn't applied to the system01:27
ouroumov_You usually need to logout or reboot before the settings take effect.01:28
giovanniyeah i already restart it01:28
ouroumov_You also need to move your desired language to the top of the stack in language support settings01:29
giovanniokay and after that restar again?01:29
Lasermanyou wemt to ,emu - lanhuages and selecter yours?01:29
ouroumov_giovanni, a logout / login should do it according to the settings dialog01:30

ouroumov_giovanni, however be aware that some parts of the system are not translated.01:30
ouroumov_giovanni, such as the application listings in the Software Boutique01:31

alkisgWhen moving 100 photos to another dir, I get the progress dialog for at least one minute... while it should happen in 1 sec, as they're in the same file system15:32
alkisgAnyone else gets that?15:32
alkisg(I mean, with cut/paste from caja)15:52
conork16:25
alkisgNah it completely hangs... maybe it's trying to update metadata or thumbnails or something, and it does it wrong...16:26
zobeidSo, I see that buttons 4 and 5 on my mouse work as Forward and Back in Firefox. . .   But where is that configured?  I don't see anything about it in Mouse Preferences, in the Control Center?17:25
Lasermancontrol center - keybpard shortcuts ?17:26
zobeidI didn't see anything related to the mouse in there?  I'll look again. . .17:34
tewardzobeid: might be preconfigured options or code on the mouse itself.17:34
Kenzohey anyone about?18:50
LasermanNo18:50
Kenzohaha hello Laserman18:50
LasermanAloha18:51
Kenzodo you know much about hal, hal-info package by any chance? I can't stream video from 2 sites18:52
LasermanI can only get hulu and netflix using chrome from google18:53
Kenzochrome and firefox have failed me with this unfortunately. i might have to resort to playonlinux :o18:54
Lasermanthat wont help18:54
KenzoWhaatt?! why? Back in the day when I used Ubuntu 14.04 all i needed to do was download hal/hal-info to get this site to work. now it makes no difference18:55
LasermanOh.. if 32 bit.. bad news18:57
KenzoI'm on a 64 bit machine18:57
Kenzoanother thing that's seeming impossible is uninstalling android studio. if anyone knows they should have a monument in their image19:00
Laserman3rd party apps suck19:01
Kenzo yes i'm beginning to discover that. the entire internet doesn't seem to know either which is rare19:03

alanbalanb19:14
alanbSorry, I have never used IRC before so am making mistakes19:15
Kenzoalkisg, thanks. i tried this but the program was still there!19:18
alkisgKenzo: which of those 5 answers did you try, and where it the program after uninstallation?19:35
Kenzoalkisg, the one with 32 hits - removing each of the folders from the directories.the program was still in my menu options and when i clicked it seemed all i had done was removed my configuration/settings. so i would need to start the setup again19:37
=== kevin is now known as Guest78685
alkisgKenzo: you can drag the menu to your desktop, and then right click properties to see WHERE the program is19:52
alkisgThat is, a file system path, not a menu19:52
Kenzoalkisg, does this answer the question? '/usr/local/android-studio/bin/studio.sh'19:55
alkisgKenzo: yes, so, it seems you installed android-studio as root and not as the user19:56
alkisgSo, /usr/local/android-studio is where the program is; and the desktop file might be in /usr/local/share/applications19:56
KenzoAh, I'm stumped, i just followed the instructions from the android studio website19:56
Kenzoso i need to find the /usr/local/android-studio and delete it?19:57
alkisgPrograms put data in various locations. That's the major location, but deleting that one won't e.g. delete your menu entry19:58
alkisgFirst check the installation instructions that you followed, and see if they have uninstallation instructions19:59
alkisgThen, check the other dir that I said as well19:59
alkisgFinally, if you delete those and you still have leftovers, you can also check in #android19:59
alkisgAs it's not an ubuntu package so it's not supported in ubuntu channels19:59
KenzoOK will do, thanks alkisg. I'm not going to make that mistake again. How can yout tell if you are installing as root?20:00
alkisgsudo means root20:00
Kenzooh yeah *facepalm*20:01
Akulieverything is probably somewhere in /usr/local20:09
Akulimost e.g. /usr/local/share/applications/whatever could be a menu entry20:09
