axwbabbageclunk: as is wont, here's a gigantic PR: https://github.com/juju/juju/pull/7644. I've split it up into 4 commits, so I hope it's not too hard. let me know if it's too much, and I'll send separate PRs04:31

axwbabbageclunk: thank you. going for a ride, I'll bbs04:35

schkovichhi guys. im stuck with bootstrapping to private openstack cloud with cryptic message: the configured region "RegionOne" does not allow access to all required services, namely: compute23:25
schkovichopenstack service list is correctly giving nova service and openstack endpoint list is giving all 3 URLs for nova23:26
schkovichi found one similar bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju/+bug/1667020 but it expired23:27
mupBug #1667020: openstack keystone v3: misleading error when domain doesn't have access to compute endpoint <oil> <openstack-provider> <juju:Expired> <https://launchpad.net/bugs/1667020>23:27
schkovichhttp://paste.ubuntu.com/25115244/23:32
schkovichRegionServiceURLs:map is missing compute URL23:34
hmlschkovich: sorry for some basic questions….  how did you configure the credentials in juju for your private openstack cloud23:34
schkovichhml: juju add-credential --replace -f credentials.yaml ostom23:35
hmlschkovich: the bug is about keystone v3 is that what you’re using?23:36
schkovichhml: yes, i'm using keystone v323:36
schkovichhml: though, i don't think that it is v3 authentication problem since i would be already authenticated when error is thrown23:37
hmlschkovich: i had better luck setting up juju credentials using the ‘juju autoload-credentials’ command when using keystone v323:38
hmlschkovich: the pastebin output indicates that juju isn’t able to use the credentials as they were given23:38
schkovichhml: hmhh, okay, let me try it23:40
schkovichhml: now authentication is failing completely :(23:43
hmlschovich: interesting… and not in a good way  - you’ve sourced a novarc file yes?  (just being paranoid.  :-) )23:44
schkovichhml: yes, i  grabbed v3 config from os dashboard23:45
hmlschkovich: i see now the first line of the pastebin…   so juju is getting different results from API calls to the openstack cloud.  one where authentication worked, and one where it didn't.23:46
hmlhrm23:46
schkovichhml: i would say so :)23:47
schkovichhml: the last try with auto-loaded credentials http://paste.ubuntu.com/25115313/23:47
hmlschkovich: i’m taking a look at the code for a hint….23:50
schkovichhml: thanks. openstack is running on lxd ocata bundle23:51
schkovichhml: figure it out23:55
schkovichhml: auto-generated credentials are missing project-domain-name23:56
hmlschkovich: ahh… that would do it.23:57
schkovichhml: of course, I have a different error now :)23:57
hmlha23:57
schkovichhml: no image metada found23:58
hmlschkovich: did you use conjure-up to deploy the openstack cloud?23:58
schkovichhml: no, juju :)23:58
hmlschkovich: you loaded the metadata into swift it appears?  what did you call the service?23:59
schkovichhml: most likely i did not set properly swift23:59
