ouroumov_Hi AaronDarron20:22
AaronDarronI have a question20:23
ouroumov_shoot20:23
AaronDarronanyone has raspberry pi20:23
ouroumov_Some here do, not me personally20:23
AaronDarronok guess wont have the problem of partition20:24
ouroumov_What specific problem is that?20:24
ouroumov_We've got a number of people with an update issue due to low space on /boot20:24
AaronDarronyea same here20:24
AaronDarronI am having that problem20:25
ouroumov_hang on while I fetch a forum thread20:25
AaronDarronI have it here20:25
AaronDarronI just posted there with my opinion of letting the user resize or change partition to their own liking20:25
AaronDarronso they wont have the problem of update or upgrade20:25
AaronDarronhttps://ubuntu-mate.community/t/disk-space-error-boot/1238620:26
ouroumov_It'd be better for you to post the suggestion on the forum I think, in the dev category20:26
ouroumov_It'll have more exposure20:26
AaronDarronI did20:27
AaronDarronhoping they would listen instead of ignore it cause people will go for another os and make ubuntu mate low rate20:27
ouroumov_Well, I have attempted to raise concern for this issue myself, but since according to lah7 that's due to to a bug in software update the correct way to go about this is to have the software fixed upstream I think20:32
AaronDarronwell instead of fixing it upstream why not just let the user partition the sd card the way they want it if a user has a 32gb and want to split the partition to 16gb each one for mmcblk0p1 and 16gb for mmcblk0p2 then that wouldn't be a problem update and upgrade the os20:36
AaronDarronto run perfect20:36
ouroumov_Well sure, but how would we implement that? And would it be really more simple for the average user than typing two commands in the terminal?20:37
AaronDarronit will make it more interesting then to not let the user do what they want and need so If i want to partition the main boot I am going to do that by adding more space to it so that if there is an update file that requires 1gb then I am in the safe zone20:39
ouroumov_Btw I seem to recall there's an "automatic resize" of partitions on rpi first boot, do you know what software is responsible for this? Is it ubiquity or welcome?20:41
AaronDarronits a welcome when first boot up it takes 5 mins then goes away20:41
AaronDarronI am just going to pay my friend to remove that app and to find a way to allow users to change make delete partition any time they choice too20:42
coalbaseihgusdg  im retardedd21:10
coalbasegelp help help me help meeehh!!!21:10
ouroumov_Hello coalbase22:05
ouroumov_Something we can help you with?22:07

AaronDarronhey ouroumov you know anything about kernel23:30
ouroumov_AaronDarron, if you mean the differences between the regular desktop images and the rpi images then no23:32
AaronDarronwell when I look it up desktop and rpi are the same with lp ppdev and parport23:33
