apwLaney, so that didn't work ...08:53
LocutusOfBorgslangasek, can we kick haskell-github [ppc64el], haskell-http-link-header [ppc64el] out? I'm going to open probably an RC in debian too09:00
LocutusOfBorghello, do you have any advice for a syncpackage -f perl?09:04
LocutusOfBorge.g. after python3.6 transition?09:04
LocutusOfBorgalso, if an archive admin can ack removal of openscenegraph, openscenegraph-3.4, osgearth all on armhf09:07
LocutusOfBorgwe don't have that egl stuff ready, and I really don't think such software can run on armhf09:08

rbasakchiluk: around? Reviewing intel-microcode.14:38
rbasakIn principle the change seems OK, but I'm confused by things mismatching the descriptions in debian/changelog14:39
rbasak"source: remove unneeded intel-ucode/ directory" - removed from where? I don't see this in the current packages for Xenial nor in Zesty.14:39
rbasak"source: remove superseded upstream data file: 20170511" - this is not true for Xenial. You remove other files instead.14:40
rbasakThough if we're removing superseded files, why do some remain? Are we following a pattern of leaving old files there, or removing old files? I'm not sure I follow why your proposed SRUs appear to do both. Is there some nuance I'm missing?14:41
apwrbasak, that is an xnox uploda isn't it ?14:53
xnoxrbasak, sounds like the changelog documents things relative what was done to the artful package to make this backport; rather than relative to what is changing relative xenial.14:55
xnoxand yes removing 20170511 makes sense (and not taking it) as it was fully superseeded by the 20170707 release.14:56
xnoxapw, thank you for the highlight.14:56
ginggswould an archive admin please remove mathicgb s390x binaries from artful?  it only ever built there once because someone "fixed it" by disabling the tests :-/15:02
xnoxmwhudson, slangasek: demoting to proposed these three reproduciblebuilds/rebootstrappy debian native packages should make python3-defaults a valid candidate for migration. https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/botch/+bug/170608915:09
ubot5Ubuntu bug 1706089 in reprotest (Ubuntu) "FTBFS with new binutils; python3.6; demote to proposed until fixed" [Undecided,Confirmed]15:09
rbasakxnox: did you sponsor these uploads? I'm not sure Launchpad will tell me until I accept.15:12
xnoxrbasak, i have not.15:13
xnoxsimply making an observation / explanation.15:13
rbasakOK, thanks.15:13
rbasakI think that we need to describe the update from the perspective of what the user is receiving. A backport would include all the changelog entries in the middle but this does not. It should describe the diff being applied in the SRU, not anything else.15:14

bashfulrobotinfinity and slangasek - it was suggested I tag you fine people. :-)17:02
bashfulrobot(not pushing for a rush).17:02
mdeslaurinfinity: I just released xorg-server updates, and there's an xorg-server-hwe-16.04 in -proposed....can I upload over it to include the security fix? how do you want me to handle that?17:27
mdeslaurI'm not sure what the SRU is waiting on17:27
tsimonq2Archive Admins: I see bashfulrobot pinged earlier, but it would be great to get Alpha 2 out of the way this week. Could someone please set the archive block and spin up the images?17:54
tsimonq2I see slangasek did Alpha 2 last release cycle, would you be interested in helping this cycle?17:54
bashfulrobotThanks tsimonq2.17:54
chilukrbasak xnox here... yes the changelog entry is there to match the artful changelog entry... As for the bins, I made the bins match what is available in the artful package without modifying the install or control scripts.19:00
chilukbasically as this is such a black box to us, who are we to say that one bin is or is not superceded, so I just made it match what is in Artful.  In reality, I think we could probably remove some of the other firmwares.19:04
chilukI probably could have put a comment in the d/changelog saying something to the effect of below changelog matches changes from zesty... I also thought about pulling all the intermediary changelog entries in, or pulling nothing in...19:08
chilukI didn't want to go through and hand edit the intermediate changelog entries between 20151106 and 20170707 from debian...19:09
chilukI also didn't like the idea of adding those entries to the changelog for x when they were never released.19:12
chilukI guess my changelog entry would have been bettery served with the word sync instead of backport... so the resulting changelog entry would have read19:13
chiluk"This is mostly a sync of the dat files from debian version 3.20170707.119:14
chiluk"19:14

mwhudsonslangasek: oh, you need to remove botch too?22:52
bdmurraystgraber: How can I fix the "LTS Desktop Upgrade (Trusty)" item here? http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/376/builds/152798/testcases23:13
bdmurrayI added test suite saying Xenial but I can't figure out how to replace the Trusty one with Xenial for Artful.23:14
bdmurrayI think testing upgrades from Trusty to Xenial is still useful so didn't just do a rename of Trusty to Xenial.23:14
-queuebot:#ubuntu-release- Unapproved: update-manager (zesty-proposed/main) [1:17.04.4 => 1:17.04.5] (core)23:47

stgraberbdmurray: then find the product you want to change and click the "linked testsuite" link. You can then remove the old testsuite for artful and add the new one.23:50
bdmurraystgraber: got it thanks. I heard a rumor that you thought reordering the series with Artful before Zesty would be hard is that true?23:54
stgraberbdmurray: shouldn't really be hard, ordering by id should do the trick. The hard part would likely be to get the code deployed. I don't remember what that involves since no change has landed in quite a while :)23:55
