=== bazhang_ is now known as bazhang [01:21] Hallo [01:21] ich benötige Hilfe [01:23] zunächst hätte ich jedoch eine Frage: wie kann es angehen, dass das Benutzerprofil beschädigt ist? ließe sich das noch beheben? [01:23] (ich kenne mich rein gar nicht mit IT und co. aus :( ) [13:18] HI everyone. I need to run a script at logon with superuser permissions. Does anyone know the best way of doing this in Xubuntu? [21:33] or switch to english [21:33] :) [22:28] My Dell Inspiron Mini is playing YouTube videos too fast, and the audio is very skippy. I'm using the latest version of Chromium from the Software Center. Does anyone know what I might be able to do? [22:30] Wortortle, what about firefox/ [22:30] The same problem occurs [22:31] Someone suggested installing the gstreamer good, and bad plugins, but the problem hasn't resolved [22:31] apart from chromium did you install any other plugins? [22:31] Just the gstreamer ones [22:32] do you still have installation media? [22:32] I also installed VLC [22:33] Yes, I do have the USB stick [22:34] try booting in live session and try youtube there [22:54] My apologies for taking so long. I had some technical difficulties with booting into the USB stick [22:54] The problem is still present on the Live Session [22:55] Wortortle, run in terminal: sudo apt install inxi [22:55] On the Live Session or in my actual installation? [22:56] your actual [23:01] Inxi is already installed [23:02] run: inxi -Fxrc0 [23:03] copy the output from terminal and paste it to www.susepaste.org [23:03] and share the link here [23:09] http://pastebin.com/rDydJTzc [23:10] I can't paste it to susepaste because it says I'm a spammer, so I had to use pastebin instead. [23:12] run: sudo ubuntu-drivers list [23:12] pastebin\ [23:16] It outputs the following two lines "bcmwl-kernel-source" and "intel-microcode". [23:16] Pastebin not necessary since it's so short [23:18] sudo apt install intel-microcode [23:18] reboot [23:18] come back [23:21] Done. Now what? [23:22] try youtube again [23:24] Problem still persists [23:25] is it the first time you instal linux? have you encountered this issue before? [23:26] I've used Linux for over ten years, and I was trying to salvage an old netbook by throwing Xubuntu on it. This is probably the first time I've encountered this problem on any installation I've done. [23:28] so this issue occurred only on 16.04? [23:28] Video playback worked fine under Windows 7 on the netbook, but the netbook was just unbearably slow. Xubuntu runs fast on it, but YouTube doesn't work on it. [23:28] Well, I mean it's the only Linux distribution that's even been installed on the netbook [23:29] I don't know if it's a problem with prior versions of Xubuntu [23:29] I see, I think you might want to try 14.04 because the hardware is really old on your netbook and the newer versions of OS sometimes, drop the support for older hardware [23:30] but first as you installed vlc, try to play a local video file and see if you get the same issue [23:35] Hmmm... VLC will play the video at normal speed, but the audio is still incredibly choppy [23:36] try this: sudo apt install smtube [23:36] I mean, I can try 14.04, but at any rate, I might just try another distribution entirely. [23:37] you won't find that many distros nowadays that will be 32 bit and support older hardware [23:45] SMTube still has the same problem [23:46] then 14.04 try in live session [23:46] I'll download that and get back to you [23:47] I'll be here for 3o min and then sleep, so if you late then catch me tomorrow
