[02:22] Salutations! [02:23] can anuone please teel me which mainline kernel should ethan test.. https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2367549&page=2 [02:23] s/teel/tell [02:26] sary, i would advise he file a bug against the ubuntu kernel rather than use the forums [02:27] as for testing mainline, the norm is to test the latest -rc as that represents the current state of the art [02:27] apw: sure right , he did .. does this looks okay! https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe/+bug/1708191 [02:27] Ubuntu bug 1708191 in linux-hwe (Ubuntu) "Xubuntu complete freeze with Intel atomic i915" [Undecided,New] [02:28] Ok, so he should go for kernel v4.13-rc3 first.. [02:30] doen't seem like he ever did install a kernel manually with the debs files , i suppose it's time he learns how to , or is it okay to use ukuu ..! [02:31] i would teach them to use the .debs [02:32] Ok. [02:39] thanks apw , will advise him on that. anything else he should collect for the bug report! [02:40] i suspect that is all, depending on the h/w this might be something we have knowledge of, not sure right now and its too late in the day to be thinking too hard [02:41] noted. have a good one. [03:08] are debug packages made for the mainline ppa kernels? [03:08] White_Light, nope [03:08] too bad [03:09] too big to keep so very many of them [03:09] I understand [05:38] PHLin: hey, thanks for assigning me https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1708120 , not sure what to do with it now though, this has been my first time working with kernel ;-) [05:38] Ubuntu bug 1708120 in linux (Ubuntu) "Lenovo Yoga 910 Sensors" [Undecided,Confirmed] [06:09] icey, sure thing, and thanks for spotting this [06:09] icey, now we wait for ACK (and comments, if any) [06:10] icey, you might be asked to verify it if the patch got applied and pushed to -proposed pocket [06:18] sary: it's a dupe of 1680904 most likely [07:50] tjaalton: it looks as there're few bug with a comment " duplicate of: Bug #1680904 ". [07:50] bug 1680904 in linux (Ubuntu Zesty) "zesty unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference" [High,In progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1680904 [07:53] sary: you mean many dupes? yes and more on the way I bet :/ [07:53] Chea! [08:51] tjaalton, do we have a fix for that yet ? [09:06] apw: already acked on the list === klebers_ is now known as klebers === cascardo` is now known as cascardo === cachio is now known as cachio_afk === mhcerri_ is now known as mhcerri [13:46] smb: hi, not sure i understood what you said in reply to v2 for the "xfs: xfs_log_ticket leak" patch I submitted. 1st one missed "cherry picked from", there were 2 ACKs with comments on the missing part, I replied back asking if you wanted me to amend and resubmit on the same thread, got no response, submitted again. I have only insisted because master-next branch seems not updated to latest "acks" from the mailing list, so I wasn't aware if [13:46] the patch had already been picked to the branch or not. [13:47] tinoco, normally if someone applies it they (should) send a reply to the thread with "APPLIED", which has not happened [13:48] smb: gotcha. so submitting the v2. was it needed ? [13:48] So that might have been pending still. That is why I send the nack to the old thread and acked the new patch again [13:48] smb: gotcha. [13:48] smb: tks. just wanted to make i wouldn't do something bad next time this happens (hopefully i wont miss this again :o) [13:48] smb: tku [13:49] tinoco, maybe not. must admit I was distracted with other things this cycle so I may have missed something. the mailing list is my memory extension in those cases ;) [13:49] smb: i know that. sorry for extra burden, i know you guys are super loaded. tks for the sru [13:51] tinoco, np. just for you as my excuse in case it was incorrect. anything not on the list might be forgotten [13:53] sforshee: sorry about the shitty email patch, thanks for getting it up :) As soon as it's in proposed, I'm happy to switch from my self-built kernel back to a signed one :) === cachio_afk is now known as cachio [14:00] icey: np, will hopefully have a new kernel in proposed by early next week === cachio is now known as cachio_afk === cachio_afk is now known as cachio
