nacctjaalton: in 16.04, libgles1-mesa is present but not installable because it depends on an old libglapi-mesa. I think that's because the xenial-updates version of mesa dropped libgles1 altogether? Should there be a dummy binary package to make libgles1-mesa not be broken? Or something to resolve that? User in #ubuntu is hitting it01:06
nacctjaalton: i guess this is all from the 16.04.3 update for mesa?01:15

mitya57acheronuk, no objections from me10:56
acheronukmitya57: thanks. could not see a problem, but had to ask so not to step on toes10:58

cyphermoxsary: got your links13:57
cyphermoxsary: is that an upgrade or a new install? it looks like if you're doing partitioning, you're missing an EFI partition (which the installer creates for you if you used guided partitioning)13:59
sarycyphermox: thanks, am in the live session trying to install in legacy mode .. well now the installtion is done. i've ran apport-collect but there was nothing to collect.14:00

cyphermoxare you trying to do "Something else" to choose your partitions yourself?14:01

cyphermoxdid you do anything different to boot the live session? because there isn't much else that deals this14:07
sarymaybe a few shutdowns , ive wanted to tty resetting the BIOS , but i couldn't find that option.14:08
sarycyphermox: thanks for the love and support.. i shall reboot now!14:17
nacctjaalton: possibly nothing in the archive, but, it would appear, the verison of the intel updater for 16.04 seems to depend on libgles1 still -- and it's still a package that exists and is now uninstallable, which seems like something we should avoid15:12
tdaitxhttps://packages.ubuntu.com/ still defaults to yakkety, shouldn't it default to zesty now?16:09
nacctdaitx: yeah, i think someone was going to file a bug16:09
tdaitxnacc, tks, haven't found one open about that, so I did it. LP: #170937816:14

nacctdaitx: thanks16:14
naccslangasek: fyi, django-compat needs an upstream update for python-django to migrate (django-compat 1.0.13 only supports up to 1.10 and 1.0.14 supports up to 1.11 which is the version in a-p). Do you want me to do the uupdate?16:21
slangaseknacc: yes please! :)16:37
naccslangasek: will do, thanks16:37
dokocoreycb: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/332460548/buildlog_ubuntu-artful-amd64.skimage_0.13.0-0ubuntu3_BUILDING.txt.gz16:41
dokoplease could you address these sphinx related issues? I think syncing sphinx ahead of time from experimental is a bad idea anyway ...16:42
coreycbdoko: yeah i agree, i think i made a mistake there16:43
coreycbdoko: can we reject it at this point?16:43
dokonot my call. you should address this with the releae team16:44
coreycbdoko: i will16:44
slangasekthis was a sync from experimental? yeah we can totally nuke that from orbit16:44
slangasekcoreycb, doko: sphinx/1.6.3-1 nuked from -proposed16:48
dokota16:48
coreycbslangasek: thank you16:48
ilmaisinslashd: hello, i read your message to the cups bug16:48
slangasekcoreycb: for your awareness, the ongoing perl transition is a bit of a mess, and updating packages deep in the stack is likely to make more work for the team right now as we try to shepherd that transition through; it's a good idea to avoid syncs from experimental for the next little whie16:50
slangasekwhile16:50
ilmaisinslashd: do you still have the vm you used for the experiment? what will happen if you run "apt upgrade" now?16:50
coreycbslangasek: ok will do16:52
slangasekcoreycb: and also, in general, uploading new versions of packages that are currently in -proposed, and are candidates, will slow down getting them into artful16:53
coreycbslangasek: do you mean packages that are stuck in proposed?16:55
coreycband uploading new versions on top of them?16:55
nacccoreycb: i think slangasek means the ones that are not stuck, but those that are valid candidates and would migrate if a new upload wasn't placed on top?16:56
slangasekcoreycb: packages currently listed as 'Valid candidate' on http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/proposed-migration/zesty/update_excuses.html but have not migrated16:56
coreycbnacc: slangasek: i see what you're saying.  it'll be hard for me to wait on proposed migrations at least for now, with final release of pike at end of august.17:00
coreycbfor openstack packages, that is17:00
slangasekcoreycb: yeah, but the reality is, any uploads now of the related packages will only make it slower17:00
nacccoreycb: yeah, i can understand that -- you're just caught between your deadline and a maze of other transitions :)17:02
coreycbslangasek: nacc: yeah, well and we do  still get ahead from an openstack pov even if pkgs are stuck in proposed because they get backported to the cloud archive from proposed where we do most of our initial testing.17:04
coreycbbut duly noted, thank you17:05
slangasekcoreycb: you backport from -proposed? ugh :)17:05
slangasekwhich means your incentivized to upload it to devel even if it's not migratable17:05
coreycbslangasek: well, it goes to a staging ppa, then once that checks out it goes to the proposed pocket of the cloud archive, then to updates later17:05
coreycbslangasek: but yes we're incentivized to do that17:06
slangasekif all goes well this will be sorted in a couple more days17:06
tsimonq2Could I please get a review of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/zesty/+source/indicator-sound-gtk2/+bug/1708619 from someone on the SRU Team? Lubuntu would like the fix and it's sitting in the Zesty Unapproved queue (I got it sponsored).17:20

rbasakAm I right in thinking I can skip the orig tarball in an SRU upload if the orig tarball already exists in the development release?18:38
naccrbasak: um, i *think* dput will reject it -- but I'm trying to recall, let me see in my e-mails19:42
naccrbasak: i'm not sure, not finding it in my own e-mails. I have this vague recollection I had to include the orig tarball for the php7.0 MREs. I guess I will be able to tell you shortly :)19:44

naccslangasek: django-compat migrated, i'll retrigger the python-django tests20:30
naccslangasek: alright, looks like they all pass, once the update_excuses picks up the new results, python-django should migrate now22:10
slangaseknacc: migrated. fancy!22:24
naccslangasek: nice -- it was on my todo to see if we had to add code, as when i last checked django-compat upstream hadn't yet updated. So it was just good timing :022:25
naccxnox: i spent some time looking at the test, and smoser is out for a while. I don't see a trivial way to run more tests in the nested guests (currently only files are pulled out). So I think the correct short-term fix is to remove that test that can't succeed with the new systemd unit.23:03
naccmdeslaur: i sent you a couple MPs to review (and gave instructions to obtain the equivalent debdiff) for php7.023:29
mdeslaurnacc: thanks! will take a look first thing tomorrow23:33
naccmdeslaur: np, let me know if you have any questions23:40
