When i open gparted i cannot adjust the disk probably because i am running in linux on the current disk. Now, i have  an old boot CD with

[14:06] <mate|13814> Hi, I just installed Ubuntu Mate 17.10 beta on a new Dell Inspiron 7567 laptop which has a Nvidia 1050ti graphics card.  The log screen works and when I login I get a black screen with just the cursor.  When I tested in live mode everything worked fine with the laptop.

[14:13] <mate|13814> I tried using rescue mode but still could not get updates to work even after enabling networking but when I select resume from rescue mode it said not all graphics would load and then this time when I logged in it worked.
