JonelethIrenicuswhy doesn't Kubuntu use the Firefox-plasma ppa?00:37
valorieJonelethIrenicus: Firefox is not something we package01:05
valoriethat is done by the Ubuntu devels, and the reason it hasn't been updated for Artful yet is some security problem01:06

TomyLobokubuntu 16.04 issue: how do make the desktop icons require a double-click16:34
TomyLobogot it working for the files in dolphin, but not the plasma desktop icons created by dragging stuff from the K manu to the desktop16:45
sparky8251:TomyLobo seems that is intentional behavior. see 2nd post: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=13842816:51
sparky8251it also gives to ways to make that behavior work16:52
spongeHello16:53
TomyLobo"The only raison d'ĂȘtre for "double-click to open" is to be able to select on single click."16:59
TomyLobo...right16:59
TomyLoboactually the reason i want this is so i dont accidentally click stuff16:59
TomyLoboon the systems I use, there simply is no application startup requiring only a single click17:01
spongeI'm trying to install kubuntu on an Asus L200HA with win10. It has a 32 GB eMMC (internal), and an a microSDXC memory card slot. When loading the kubuntu installer, it identifies the 32GB eMMC storage (although most of the partitions there are recognized as "unknown"), but it doesn't recognize the microSDXC memory card slot. I tried different cards (sandisk/kingstone). Nothing works. Any ideas?17:02
TomyLoboclick K menu, click icon in menu => 2 clicks    double-click desktop icon => 2 clicks    double-click ods file to open libreoffice calc => 2 clicks17:02
TomyLoboso not having that consistency is bad17:02
TomyLoboapplication launchers are off to the bottom, so they're not easily clicked by accident17:04
TomyLobohttps://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348960#c12 so basically what this guy said :)17:06
ubottuKDE bug 348960 in Icon Applet "Double click to open file/folders do not work with "icon" and "trash" plasmoids" [Normal,Resolved: wontfix]17:06
TomyLoboalso, KDE has always been about customization, and I think this behaviour should be the choice of the user17:07

sparky8251:TomyLobo the link i provided states that you can set up a folder view or change the desktop type so it is a folder view. then the files in your desktop folder will only open on double click and be displayed on your desktop17:20
sparky8251by default, its not a file. its a launcher widget. and these cant take that setting.17:20
ghostcubehi guys, i just updated to 17.04 from 16.10 and notried something strange with login to lightdm and nvidia 37517:42
ghostcubeis it true that the 375 package in the official repos isnt the best to take17:43
ghostcubei cant login to my kde at the moment17:43
ghostcube*noticed17:43
TomyLobosparky8251, oh, that's actually what i did in previous versions18:07
TomyLobothe thing that changed was probably that you can now drag launchers to the desktop18:08
sparky8251i recall being able to drag launcher to the desktop back in KDE4. glad i was able to help you TomyLobo!18:09
TomyLobomaybe i just never tried beyond some point :)18:20
