[01:13] DarinMiller: I have very clean 17.10 VM. [01:15] Getting updates since Beta2RC2. [01:18] System Settings > Look and Feel > Search for United by llucas > Install [01:20] Close > I see it in Look and Feel along with Breeze and Breeze Dark. Select it, and also click use Desktop Layout from theme and Apply. I get a warning, and I see something like a unity panel on the left, a top bar, but plasma background. [01:21] I have a warning that the application menu widget is disabled and the Widget style dialog pops up [01:22] Cancel and trying a re-boot. [01:22] GetL1nux [01:25] Enter my LVM password, and no, the wallpaper is still plasma default. I needed to right-click on my desktop to select the Ubuntu orange wallpaper. [01:25] Ugh [01:26] That orange. [01:27] But, it is a bit closer to unity. Somewhere I saw a tutorial that seemed to get a whole lot closer, but this was only a few clicks. [01:39] mparillo: I had to manually select the Ubuntu wallpaper also. But, I did not download it separately. [23:08] which I guess is why they merged it to master branch then [23:08] they were just discussing it in #kde-devel [23:08] it aaaaaaaaaages sine I tried that [23:09] -kubuntu-ci:#kubuntu-devel- Project mgmt_merger build #966: SUCCESS in 9 min 38 sec: https://kci.pangea.pub/job/mgmt_merger/966/ [23:10] what is juk? [23:10] I don't think I've tried it since kde3 [23:10] lol [23:10] minimal music player, isn't it? [23:10] !info juk [23:10] juk (source: juk): music jukebox / music player. In component universe, is optional. Version 4:17.04.3-0ubuntu1 (artful), package size 692 kB, installed size 1769 kB [23:11] sorta a minimal amarok IIRC? [23:12] are you porting it? [23:13] mpyne did, along with someone else [23:13] the guy who does kdesrc-build [23:14] and asciiquarium [23:14] not right now for the packaging. feel free. or leave for a learner? [23:14] which I miss..... [23:16] I'll do start it now [23:16] we seem to have a shortage of learners [23:20] yep, pretty basic. playlists, lyrics, search, and some album art. [23:22] now that it's ported and released, perhaps we can add it to our list of possibilities to Amarok replacements [23:22] however, it seems that the Amarok port is also finally moving [23:22] according to #kde-devel today [23:23] valorie: yes, playing with the KDE4 version, it's not as basic as I thought [23:24] it was the original basis for Amarok, as I remember [23:24] from the misty past..... [23:26] I only recall as far back as amarok 1.4 I think [23:27] which now looking at it, was basically a enhanced juk [23:28] yep [23:29] nice to know we can fall back to that if all our other choices crap out [23:29] or fail to appear [23:29] cool. we may have a few options for the next LTS [23:29] that's always better than "desperation" [23:31] would be typical if in 6 months we are 'spoilt for choice' [23:32] after having not much for ages [23:34] -kubuntu-ci:#kubuntu-devel- Yippee, build fixed!
