pupycHi12:59
pupycIs this proper Ubuntu or other flavors testing?13:01
popeyhttps://community.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-17-10-community-iso-testing/45813:08
* acheronuk syncs isos13:09
pupycshould we post bugs we encounter during the testing here13:12
pupycand someone will report it in the bug tracker13:12
popeyI'd recommend filing them on the bug tracker yourself.13:22
popeyDon't rely on someone else filing them, as they may not be able to reproduce them13:22
flexiondotorgAfternoon everyone.13:46
acheronukok. so this is on at 15:00 UTC = 4pm UK time ?13:53
popeyCorrect!13:53

simosxobviously they are not alphabetical, probably tongue in cheek.15:05
KomboHello World!15:06
simosxBase URL: http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/15:07
jibelit's in reversed alphabetical order to have most recent at the top.15:08
jibelbut A ....15:08
devbiewhat exaclty is the15:10
devbiewhat exactly is the address with the final images etc that martin is using right now?15:11

simosxBase URL: http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/15:11

simosxFrom there, go to the end of the page, and click on "Artful Final".15:11
yassine_http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/383/builds15:12
simosxThen, pick your distribution.15:12
jibelIn addition all the images are on http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/15:12
bashfulrobot_Good day all. (well morning here).15:13
simosxjibel, cdimage.ubuntu.com probably does not have the "Artful Final" image yet.15:13
Eso0Hi all15:13
bittinhere now15:14
popeyhi bashfulrobot_15:14
acheronukcdimage does have them, but they will be found in the latest daily builds folders. so a bit confusing15:14
jibelsimosx, it does. It's the latest build for each flavor. For example for ubuntu it's in http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/15:14
acheronukgo via the testing tracker, and you are guaranteed to land on the right iso15:14
acheronukKubuntu has struggled to get bare metal testing on particularly i386 in the betas. so any testing for these RCs on that would be great15:17
bittinacheronuk: is the updated ISOs updated?15:17
bittinuploaded*15:17
acheronukbittin: the ones on the tracker are the latest spins. done by the release team earlier this afternoon15:18
bittinperfect15:18
bittinacheronuk: downloading from the Swedish Mirrors now :)15:19
acheronukbittin: I can speak for how up to date mirrors are15:19
acheronukcheck md5/sha hashes15:20
bittinseems to be the same file15:20
bittin:)15:20
flexiondotorgouroumov: A one off early prototype t-shirt15:21
flexiondotorgYou should alway use the ISO tracker for downloading images for testing.15:22
flexiondotorgIt will always link to the latest candidate image.15:22
* acheronuk nods15:22
bittinacheronuk flexiondotorg popey Downloading ready for test in around 30 minutes15:23
ouroumovflexiondotorg, I want to know how popey's getting the video of his BIOS. :O15:23
simosxYou clicked on "Install", not "Try"15:23
bashfulrobot_*whew* we can relax now - it booted. (ha ha)15:23
flexiondotorgouroumov: We're using HDMI capture devices from Magewell.15:23
fossfreedom_popey - try is the first option - install is the second option15:23
flexiondotorgfossfreedom_: Glad you could join us :-)15:23
fossfreedom_:)15:24
bashfulrobot_fossfeedom_ the pressure is off. :-P (booting)15:25

BonfiglioJOIN15:29
Bonfiglio Hello, does anyone know any Linux clients (Fedora or Ubuntu) to use Google Drive? The option to insert Google account is not legal to work, because I am in doubt if you synchronized the files. I searched the internet and found nothing that works as the Google client for Windows as the old Google Drive (Now in the new version as Backup and sync in version 3.36). Thanks for the help if anyone can inform you.15:31
popeyBonfiglio: sadly google haven't made their linux google drive client available :(15:31
bashfulrobot_popey: I'll pull a link - I have been using an alternative gdrive client.15:32
flexiondotorgBonfiglio: I use Insync https://www.insynchq.com/15:33
bashfulrobot_Bonfiglio: I use this one with google drive. https://github.com/astrada/google-drive-ocamlfuse15:34
bashfulrobot_flexiondotorg works well?15:34
flexiondotorgBetter than the official client on Windows.15:34
bashfulrobot_I'll have to give it a go.15:35
vrmkio_gdrive integrates with dolphin file manager, multiple google account15:36
glmdevI use insync's nautilus integration and can attest that it works very well.15:38

flexiondotorgjibel: Thank you for joining, Really valuable insight :-)15:46
acheronukvrm: kio_gdrive did not quite make it into artful, but it is built and ready to go in the Kubuntu backports PPA once artful is released15:47
simosxImportant info to disseminate: for 17.10, the Live Session runs X.Org instead of Wayland (because of some issues with Ubuquity on Wayland). Therefore, if a user tries the LiveSession, it is not a guarantee that Wayland works fine on the machine.15:47
popeyVery!15:47
popeyIf anyone has any comments or valuable information to add, feel free to drop it on the thread:- https://community.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-17-10-community-iso-testing/45815:48
popeyWe can add some of that to the youtube video description and we will re-share it tomorrow.15:48

popeyouroumov: i also have a funky ffmpeg script which captures the output from my laptop. Having pixel-perfect 1080p 60fps capture of the desktop is great for filing good bugs :D15:55

jibelbittin_ubuntutes, yeah it's the latest image. Can you md5sum the image and compare to http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/daily-live/20171016/MD5SUMS just to double check it's the right one16:20

bittin-also Terminal does not start at all if you boot in UEFI17:27
bittin-did my first contribution too Rhythmbox while helping testing Ubuntu 17.10 :D17:43
GrindamNHi everyone19:27
fhackerHello..19:30
davemqhowdy19:38
bittin_popey or Wimpy or someone else that might know is it possible to update Ubuntu MATE to the 17.10 RC without reinstalling a laptop?19:45
valoriebittin_: from what?19:45
bittin_valorie: 16.04.3 LTS19:45
baesoaresi am install for testing19:46
valorieoh19:46
bittin_valorie: cool amaroK developer just installed amaroK for the first time in a while19:46
bittin_while testing Kubuntu19:46
valoriethat's a bit of a trek, since it would have to upgraded to 17.04, THEN 17.1019:47
bittin_have found less bugs in Kubuntu in Ubuntu this cycle19:47
bittin_valorie: ah okay19:47
valoriebittin_: no longer spelled with the capital K19:47
valorielol19:47
bittin_ah that shows my age :(19:47
valoriebittin_: yup, I was using amarok in those days too19:47
bittin_i should say i don't use it these days :(19:48
bittin_uses audacious19:48
valorieI'm part of the Kubuntu team, and we try very hard to kill all the bugs19:48
bittin_but family members are doing19:48
baesoares Gnome environment beautifully crafted in this seemingly19:48
valorieI still use amarok19:48
bittin_heh, want something special tested?19:48
bittin_also would it not be better to have Amarok by default and not an mpd client?19:49
valoriebittin_: our users really want i386, but many of them are not so good at testing esp. on bare metal 386 machines19:49
valoriebittin_: we hope to have amarok by default again by the LTS19:49
bittin_valorie: awesome19:49
bittin_makes me happy19:49
valoriebut meanwhile we're trying to get rid of all old kdelibs-based stuff19:50
valorieme too19:50
bittin_ah ok19:50
valoriethe more kde-software only we can be, the better19:50
valoriemeanwhile we always try to give our users the best software, which occasionally means non-KDE stuff19:51
bittin_however i liked the more Winamp layout better then the iTunes one :P19:51
valorienever really used either of 'em19:51
bittin_there was a show my Amarok thread on last.fm but seems most pics are dead19:53
bittin_https://www.last.fm/group/Amarok+Users/forum/18538/_/178145/119:53
valoriegosh, I never heard of that forum19:54
valoriedidn't know that lastfm had 'em19:54
valorieI think we should move to #amarok with this19:54
valoriesorry to channel denizens19:55
