[08:53] morning boys and girls. [08:54] good morning [09:06] morning [12:17] Morning, I just seen that in the the default file browser the zip/tar.gz/7z from context switch is missing the password option on the new version, does anyone has a clue why something basic like this got removed ? [12:19] I would imagine it was an upstream gnome change, rather than ubuntu [12:20] chances are it may have been removed to stop novice users zipping something and then being unable to extract it - which would be terrible for a user and user experience [12:21] it was already a hidden option so I don't know how easy it was do use it wrong [12:22] You'd be very surprised how easily people can do something destructive by mistake [12:26] like failing to press ctrl+s, and loosing hours worth of work. [12:29] auto save is nice, but I have my git stash in cron so I don't care really :D [13:15] aloha anyone coming to the RAT this weekend ? [13:15] http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/ubuntu-uk/3629-ubuntu-uk-rat-meetup/ [13:27] ahhhh that would have been nice [13:37] rat-a-tat-tat [13:53] eww shutter has a mem leak. was using 1G RAM resident [13:54] i also had a vagrant VM running :( [13:54] firefox using 4G RAM [14:02] so... they are copying chrome! :-) [14:02] all the rams! [14:03] *sheep not included [14:10] i do have 100+ tabs [14:10] has anyone ever used the motor legal insurance that you typically pay £30 a year for on a policy? [14:12] 100 tabs?! [14:13] jeez, people, how do you have the cognition to maintain all that state in your mind?! [14:13] *switch to tab* what was this for? dunno, I'll just leave it in case I remember [14:14] I prefer just closing random stuff and not trying to remember why I left it open. [14:18] i have about 10 open that i access regularly and maybe another 20 of stuff i haven't read yet. when it hits 20 i kill the ones i'm not going to get to [14:27] i have a bunch of github repos open for PR, 10-20 tabs for what i'm curently doing, 10-20 tabs as bookamrks that i don't wanna lose..etc [14:27] i am usually multi tasking on about 5 projecst in a week and need them all to hand [14:28] you are a browser God to keep sane with all that. props to you for being awesome. I, myself, wouldn't be able to cope :-) [14:28] different working methods i guess [14:28] yeah [14:28] and crap bookmark support in browsers [14:29] i want a recent bookmarks thing really [14:29] i think everything i do involves 10 tabs [14:29] bookmarks are the wrong solution - once you add something you wanna read to bookmarks it gets forgotten about and left to bitrot [14:30] I kinda like the idea of "spaces" where you have groups of tabs that you set aside for later [14:31] google has turned me into someone who googles for the page i had rather than search bookmarks [14:31] bookmark management in general is sucky [14:32] or maybe better history management [15:09] What have I done?!?!?! [15:09] I found myself writing a Perl module!? [15:14] dear god man" [15:14] ! === Gary_ is now known as GazzaK
