pdeIs it common for there to be malware in the Ubuntu app store? I just accidentally installed this thing: https://askubuntu.com/questions/970219/123-sogou-com-trojan-horse-in-ukui-screensaver05:30
pde(as a result of trying to change the time-to-screensaver-onset in ubuntu 17.10)05:31
infinityLocutusOfBorg: How much would I have to pay you to stop merging debhelper? :P05:43
rbasakpde: AFAICT, that's not malware: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sogou06:22
rbasakIt appears to be the default (and legitimate) search engine for Kylin.06:23
rbasakIt does feel like a bug that ukui-screensaver depends on ubuntukylin-default-settings.06:24
rbasakThough I don't know the detail.06:24
pdehmmm, interesting. I noticed it because it changed Firefox's homepage to Sogou06:24
rbasakI would file a bug against ukui-screensaver to argue that it isn't reasonable for it to depend on arbitrary additional unrelated settings.06:25
rbasakThough that package is perhaps Kylin-"specific" so it may be low priority for them.06:26
rbasakPerhaps in that case it's a separate bug that the software centre surfaces that pckage.06:26
LocutusOfBorginfinity, did I make any mistake? anyhow, if you want, please steal it anytime you like :)07:43
LocutusOfBorginfinity, I spotted an RC bug in debhelper, I had to followup with a new upload :(08:01
LocutusOfBorgand now the delta is reducing finally08:01
ricotzjbicha, hi, fyi, firefox 58 beta builds will include the EmojiOneMozilla.ttf as shipped by upstream11:54
niedbalskiRAOF hello there, if you have some cycles, do you mind to review LP: #1657256? (verification done).13:09

elopiopitti: Hello! I'm playing with a script you initially wrote: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-archive/ubuntu-archive-tools/trunk/view/head:/retry-autopkgtest-regressions15:00
elopiois there any reason to use the cookie in there instead of oauth?15:00
pittielopio: it's massively simpler15:01
pittiif you can work out how to use oauth with it, feel free of course :)15:01
elopiopitti: well, I tried, and failed. But it might be I'm doing something stupid, of course :) I will try a little more.15:02
elopiothanks! And how are you pitti?15:02
pittielopio: IIRC I did look into using oauth back then, and gave up after a short while with "argh too complicated", or something such :)15:03
pittielopio: quite fine, thanks! debugging chromium crashes in docker containers (that ruins our tests), so same old :-P15:03
pittihow about yourself?15:03
elopiopitti: sounds fun. I'm ok, fighting autopkgtests (same old, too :)15:04
cpaelzerdannf: on 1710019 we are down to "all good who does the upload (and when)"15:07
cpaelzerdannf: if you are around already let me know15:08
dannfcpaelzer: i am. i can do the upload if you like15:08
cpaelzerok15:09
cpaelzerdannf: do so I'll pull from there and make sure it is correctly in git as well15:09
dannfcpaelzer: ack, thx!15:10
cpaelzerhmm, can I pull-lp-source (or similar) from release-unapproved?15:36
cpaelzerwget from LP page links feels wrong15:36
nacccpaelzer: `git ubuntu queue` can do it, iirc15:37
nacccpaelzer: otherwise, i believe there are sru tools15:37
cpaelzeruh we have a queue command15:38
cpaelzerchecking that :-)15:39
nacccpaelzer: not displayed in top-level help, iirc, but in the manpage15:40
rbasakcpaelzer: from an up-to-date repo, "git ubuntu queue sync" should do it.15:52
cpaelzernacc: rbasak: yeah working fine for me16:01

rlinkStill looking for someone on ubuntu-sponsors to look over an SRU for Xenial's network-manager, please.17:56
=== auslaender is now known as itaorna
rlinkOr is there at least an expected turnaround time between when ~ubuntu-sponsors gets subscribed to the SRU-ed bug and when someone takes a look at it?19:45

juliankrlink: According to the upstream bug, the fix there is incomplete. Is your fix different?21:01
rlinkjuliank: It is the exact same patch.  I believe the final comment in the upstream bug diesn't account for NetworkManager itself having to be restarted for the new Notify mechanism to be usable.  Hence why they're still seeing Event fallback.21:04
rlinkAlso note that those log messages in the final comment in the upstream bug are from a custom wrapper the submitter is running around the actual nm-dhcp-helper.21:05
rlinkI've deployed and tested the exact same patch/fix here and have seen nothing but successful renew Notifies.21:06
juliankrlink: I think the whole SRU stuff from the comment needs to be in the description, at least that's what the doc says. It's a bit bad that it's not really testable IMO, but if you can reliably reproduce it and verify it that way, that seems OK to me.21:13
rlinkI can certainly move the SRU block into the description.21:14
rlinkjuliank: I've moved the SRU text into the description and addressed your concern in the Other Info section21:26
juliankrlink: OK, the patch does not seem to break anything, so good to go21:32
juliankWe're kind of lucky that I actually have a xenial VM21:33
rlinkjuliank:  Cool.  What's next?21:33
juliankrlink: Waiting for approval to -proposed, after which there will be a comment on the bug asking you to verify it. Once verified and 7 days have passed, you just have to wait for it to be released to -updates :)21:35
rlinkCool.  Thank you!21:36
xnoxcpaelzer, i'm trying to change qemu code to compile roms the way debian wants them to be compiled....21:42
xnoxcpaelzer, where does one supposed to get roms/SLOF from?21:42
xnoxcpaelzer, nevermind found it.21:45
