=== himcesjf_ is now known as him-cesjf [06:32] hello [06:35] I installed 17.10 when it came out a month ago and I had some wifi-related issues that are apparently fixed in 4.13.8 but I haven't seen any kernel update yet and still have 4.13.8. I saw some notes mentioning that there was supposed to be an update today but I haven't seen that either. Do you know if/when the kernel will be updated? [08:29] ret2libc: unmkinitramfs is what you are looking for ;) part of initramfs-tools just like lsinitramfs [11:37] thank you TJ- ! [11:39] ret2libc: whadidido?!? [11:41] for the script to extract initramfs [11:43] ret2libc: OH!! lol... I'd forgotten, I've been to sleep since then :) [11:44] me too, but i don't forget :P [11:44] ret2libc: I find it helps else my brain would leak out my ears [11:47] f_g: btw i cannot find that binay anywhere in none of the initramfs-tools-* packages [11:47] TJ-: it usually does, except today... woke up sick, not a good sign :) [11:50] ret2libc: get out in the fresh air! I'm about to do my daily cross-country run around the farm tied behind 2 Huskies :) [11:50] ret2libc: what binary have you lost? [11:53] TJ-: f_g was saying that unmkinitramfs is what i'm looking for. I suppose it does something similar to your script, but actually i cannot find it in any package [11:57] ret2libc: that's referring to Debian, see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=807457 [11:57] Debian bug 807457 in initramfs-tools "Add command to unpack initramfs" [Wishlist,Fixed] [11:58] ret2libc: see the list of files for https://packages.debian.org/stretch/all/initramfs-tools-core/filelist [12:02] it's not in ubuntu though. so it's just easier to use your script [12:06] ret2libc: I think the script is smaller too :) [12:40] ret2libc: hah! didn't know that was debian-only ;) [12:48] f_g: no problem ;)
