playenballFinally got 17.10 tweaked to my liking but I am having two issues04:15
playenballI cant get Thunar to display video thumbnails04:15
playenballI also cant seem to get the boot splash screen to display at the right resolution of 1920x1080 for my display04:16
berkiyoOh04:20
berkiyohmm same here, I never cared about video-thumbnails04:20
berkiyoBut I just realised, maybe it's the icon pack? (I doubt)04:20
berkiyoAs for the boot-splash screen, what GPU do you have?04:21
playenballI have a hybrid intel/amd04:22
playenball Card-1: Intel 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller04:22
playenball           bus-ID: 00:02.004:22
playenball           Card-2: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Neptune XT [Radeon HD 8970M]04:22
playenball           bus-ID: 01:00.004:22
berkiyoHmm04:22
berkiyoHave you tried booting your laptop with the iGPU disabled (Intel GPU) if possible?04:23
playenballI hadnt thought of that. Ill give that a try. Its not a deal breaker......just anoying.04:24
berkiyoI have a dual display setup which I have the external monitor my primary when I plug my laptop in. Upon bootup, I just have plymouth (boot-splash) show on my laptop screen. I think this can be fixed if your BIOS/UEFI has an option to show post/bootsplash on VGA/HDMI/DP/internal display etcc..04:28
playenballWell disabling the iGPU didnt help04:34
berkiyoAre you using UEFI or Legacy to boot?04:43
berkiyoplayenball, sorry for the late reply04:43
playenballUEFI04:44
berkiyoplayenball: no idea man, I never investigated it but try doing some research regarding grub resolution05:09
berkiyosorry about that05:09
playenballNo big deal. Grub resolution was where I started. I had been searching for a few hours and hadnt found anything that worked. Thought maybe someone in here might have an idea.05:11
playenballThe resolution isnt a problem in regular ubuntu.05:11
