bobsmith83 | back with partitioning questions... | 00:50 |
---|---|---|
bobsmith83 | I first installed trisquel and it set a /home partition in xfs file structure. Now, I want to split that in two and give half of it to /home in Lubuntu. seems simple enough? | 00:51 |
bobsmith83 | of course, I want lubuntu /home in ext4, i think, or 2 or 3?, no probably 4 | 00:52 |
bobsmith83 | i/m going to go eat some more pie now. cheers | 01:07 |

JustCurious | Hello, I am doing some tests with Ubuntu 12.04 (EOL version), I am trying to install the newest kernel (3.4), this is, the newest kernel for that version. I've downloaded the kernel .deb on http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ and I've installed them (amd64), but when I reboot it freezes, so I have to restart and pick start Ubuntu with the current kernel, 3.13.0-32. :-( Any idea please? | 12:05 |
snpresent | lxqt is worse than lxde :) | 18:10 |
tsimonq2 | That's your opinion. ;) | 18:10 |
snpresent | ok...but lxqt crash a lot | 18:10 |
tsimonq2 | Not really. | 18:11 |
snpresent | for daily use lxqt just crash a lot here | 18:11 |
tsimonq2 | !offtopic | 18:11 |
ubottu | #lubuntu is the Lubuntu support channel, #lubuntu-devel for discussion regarding development of Lubuntu, and #lubuntu-offtopic is for random chatter. Welcome! | 18:11 |
tsimonq2 | I've used it for the past year with little to no crashes. | 18:12 |
snpresent | wow | 18:12 |
snpresent | will lubuntu keep use lxde for default? | 18:13 |
tsimonq2 | For the LTS. | 18:13 |
snpresent | future? | 18:14 |
tsimonq2 | LXQt, eventually. | 18:14 |
snpresent | damn | 18:14 |
snpresent | :( | 18:14 |
tsimonq2 | You aren't on 16.04 trying to use LXQt, are you? | 18:14 |
snpresent | 17.10 | 18:14 |
tsimonq2 | Ah. | 18:14 |
tsimonq2 | Still, I don't know what you're talking about, because I've used 17.10 LXQt on all of my production machines with little to no issue. | 18:15 |
tsimonq2 | I certainly haven't had a crash on any of my machines caused by LXQt in at least 6 months if not more. | 18:15 |
snpresent | oh ,you are lucky | 18:15 |
NapoleonDynamite | Hi all, total noob about Linux. Despite the fact, after some research I decided to use Lubuntu on the $5 VPS from Vultr https://www.vultr.com/pricing/ . My goal only is to surf the net, about 10 tabs opened. Will I be fine ? | 21:21 |
NapoleonDynamite | also, I am wondering if Lubuntu comes with a RDP / VNC server pre-installed natively ? | 21:21 |
