[00:10] hello good evening [00:11] can anyone help me with onnecting lidl silvercrest bluetooth speaker to my notebook [02:06] how can i enable bell sound for terminal? [02:10] kristoffer: One of the hidden options, https://docs.xfce.org/apps/terminal/advanced [02:17] i cant find ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME}/xfce4/terminal/terminalrc i tried different options [02:18] ~/.config/xfce4/terminal/terminalrc [02:44] So I recently installed VScode and after deleting these git related things from the text0editor, it magically cleared all the set icons and the shortcuts I made in thunar (eg: documents, pictures etc don't have their special icons anymore, just regular folders). [02:45] How would I get the defaults back for thunar? [02:45] (I also furiously removed vscode :P deleting keys and purging it like a mad man) [02:46] One moment, let me just logout and log back in. [02:48] No luck [02:48] Looks like vscode deleted my config files for a lot of things [02:48] even hexchat [02:48] What a bummer. [02:49] :( [02:49] What? That doesn't make sense.. [02:49] Don't worry guys, I'll fix it. [02:50] Yeah don't worry, I deleted some stuff in vscode blindly and apparently git did something with them [02:50] so bash themes and stuff are all history [02:50] my fault :( [02:51] I'll sort it out though, no worries there just a waste of my time. [02:53] By the way, I love this distro. [02:54] Can't wait for 18.04! [10:37] is it possible to revert the version from 17.10 to 17.04? [10:38] no [10:39] the CPU usage jumped from average 3-4% to average 80% , I don't know why [10:40] have you looked at what is using the CPU? [10:41] I tried, but I couldn't see any process showed in the Task Manager which would drain the system [10:44] here is the screenshot of the Task Manager https://drive.google.com/open?id=1P1J3FrjAwYusfbtYWs0UOjd-MnPhznXG [10:55] arpad: try using top in a terminal instead [10:57] flocculant: thank you! yes, indeed the picture is different now [10:57] :) [10:57] taskmanager has that "show all processes" checkbox too which might help.. [10:58] but indeed, i use (h)top too [10:58] indeed [10:59] https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-GjHT10x6vkG8XDHJBHg63HVz0H3hCVu [10:59] !imagebin [10:59] Screenshots can be made with the [PrtScr] button. Want to show us a screenshot of your problem? Upload an image to http://imgur.com/ and link the created page here. [10:59] please [10:59] what is fahclie+ ? [10:59] folding at home? [11:00] knome: don't understand :( [11:00] it's software [11:01] http://folding.stanford.edu/ [11:01] basically it does calculations on your computer to help with disease research -- it's supposed to take up resources [11:01] so you might want to disable that [11:02] yes, I enabled that, it might go little bit out of control [11:02] so there's your answer [11:02] :) [11:02] it is what is taking up your CPU [11:02] thanks [11:02] so I was helping the researchers [11:03] yes, thanks, and I will try to remember 'top' [11:04] why Task Manager didn't show this, fah isn't system process [11:04] it's apparently a CLI process [11:04] task manager doesn't know what's a "real" system process either [11:05] is there any setting in TM which might show this process in the future? [11:06] "show all processes" [11:06] from the settings menu [11:07] cool, not too difficult, still it seems it was.. thank you all!!! [20:20] hi. can u guys share ppa with window manager where screen tearing is fixed. i can only install it by downloading package from debian repos [20:20] but it wont update i suppose [20:20] i use xubuntu 16.04 [23:52] Hello! I am running Xubuntu 17.10 and my issue is that I cannot use the volume keys integrated in my laptop to set the volume over 100%. I have been googling a bit and some websites suggested adding a preamp to alsamixer, which didnt work for me. So how can I make the volume keys increment the volume to over 100%? (Let's say 130%)
