[13:58] morning [13:58] how's the day so far? [13:59] wheeeee [13:59] just getting started. Good morning. [13:59] How about with you, cmaloney ? [13:59] Getting started as well [13:59] just ate breakfast and am awaiting coffee [13:59] * rick_h agrees coffee is a good idea [13:59] what was for breakfast? [14:00] debating on whether or not to go to the doc for a sinus thing that has been going on over a week [14:00] which gets better during the day and then gets worse at night [14:06] cmaloney: Did you see https://dadabots.bandcamp.com/album/coditany-of-timeness ? [14:19] Checking [14:19] Yes [14:20] They claim no copyright / fair use on it, but I'm not sure I agree with that assessment [14:21] I just found the concept interesting: black metal generated by AI [14:21] Yeah, that's more thought than some bands put into it for sure [14:22] "chang chang chang chang chang chang chang chang chang chang chang chang chang chang chang chang" [14:22] "oooooooooOOOOOOOOOOORRrrrrrrrrrrrrreewwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy" [17:18] rick_h: http://www.californiatypewriter.com/shop/white-olympia-sm-3 [17:18] You don't need this. :) [17:19] Lol [17:19] cmaloney: what kind of enabler are you :p [17:20] Now, if it was a VT101 terminal... [17:21] lol [17:21] Tom Hanks in the show is great. [17:21] Seeing him geek out was so much fun [17:22] Is there an actual show about typewriters? [17:22] * cmaloney isn't culturally savvy anymore [17:23] cmaloney: there's the documentary I mentioned called California typewriter I watched [17:23] That was what I was talking about in the Twitter post [17:23] Ah, OK. [17:24] I figured there was some form of connection [17:24] and yes, I think the typewriter is an wesome no-frills writing device [17:24] http://m.imdb.com/title/tt5966990/ [17:24] but damn [17:24] If you really want a nice single-tasker get Atari Writer. ;) [17:26] https://inverseatascii.files.wordpress.com/2015/09/aw_ad_analog8311sm.jpg [17:26] I brought a typewriter to college with me. Used it a lot before I learned how to computer and print [17:27] As soon as I had a printer and AtariWriter I was pretty much spoiled for anything that wasn't a wordprocessor [17:27] write it by hand? Screw that. [17:28] I still like to write by hand, but not typewriter. [17:28] Yea but I love my fountain pens. I want less screens not more. [17:30] Yeah, I like writing with pens too [17:30] I prefer pencils [17:30] <_stink_> gtfo [17:31] Yeah, I like mechanical pencils [17:31] pens are messy and slow [17:31] and hard to erase [17:32] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gE08iiuI_V4 [17:33] wow === JonathanS is now known as JonathanD === JonathanD is now known as JonathanS [22:58] So, I bought Rowan a hobby quality level RC truck for xmas (er, it's from Santa). ECX brand. It came today and I'm so excited I can't wait until xmas. :) [22:59] it's on the slower side (25 mph instead of 30+) but it has a higher clearance than other 1/18th scale ones (and i didn't want to spend the money to go up to the 1/10th scale ones) [23:00] awesome. [23:00] I thought about getting something liek that for my kiddo for christmas this year, but I don't know if she'd love it or not. [23:02] (continuing thought) and I can upgrade battery/motors for more speed, but harder to upgrade ground clearance [23:17] greg-g: cool stuff
