shiftplusoneIs there a way to allow a different launchpad user to upload to your PPA? I guess the only way is for them to generate a new key and add it to this launchpad account?15:27
cjwatsonshiftplusone: it's possible, just undocumented :)  it's usually better to make the PPA be owned by a suitable team instead15:32
cjwatsonshiftplusone: but if you have no alternative, you can use edit-acl from lp:ubuntu-archive-tools to grant an extra upload ACL on a PPA15:32
korriganhello, I've open a question at Launchpad a few days ago, but since there are no answers untill today I thought I'd ask here15:32
korrigan Importing my OpenPGP key to Launchpad Asked by Korrigan Nagirrok on 2017-12-11  Hello.  I've been trying to import my openPGP key to Launchpad since 15-11-2017 to no avail. The key was already uploaded to the Ubuntu keyserver: http://keyserver.ubuntu.com/pks/lookup?op=vindex&search=korrigan&fingerprint=on (it's the first one listed).15:33
cjwatsonkorrigan: yep, sorry, I have seen your question, just need to do some log-trawling to figure out the problem15:33
shiftplusoneOh.. didn't know teams were a thing. Already made an account that should've been a team instead. Hmm15:33
korrigansure cjwatson, no problem15:33
shiftplusonethanks again, cjwatson15:33
korriganI'll wait for your answer there, then15:33
shiftplusoneif I delete my account, will the name become available to create a team with the same name?15:38
shiftplusonelooks like you can only deactivate15:39
cjwatsononce the deletion completes it gets renamed out of the way15:41
cjwatsons/deletion/deactivation/15:41
shiftplusoneAlright, I'll give it a go.15:42
shiftplusoneThat was easy. Thanks again.15:44
cjwatsonnp15:45
shiftplusoneI've just uploaded some packages to a team ppa and they have been stuck on 'Pending publication' for for about an hour. Is that normal or is there an additional step I'm missing?16:57
cjwatsonLet me see17:04
cjwatsonshiftplusone: Can you give me a pointer to the PPA?17:05
shiftplusoneppa:rpi-distro/ppa17:06
shiftplusonehttps://launchpad.net/~rpi-distro/+archive/ubuntu/ppa17:06
cjwatsonYou've managed to break something ...17:08
shiftplusoneI have a knack for that17:08
cjwatsonHave you been deleting and reuploading or copying around packages without changing the version?17:08
shiftplusoneI have deleted an account and created a team with the same name. The packages were on that account previously.17:09
shiftplusoneSo that may count as a reupload17:09
rbasakshiftplusone: o/17:09
rbasakI read Ben's blog post earlier.17:09
rbasakI suggested that you should use avahi-daemon and forget about looking up IPs, BTW.17:09
rbasakUnrelated to your current problem.17:09
shiftplusonerbasak: hey17:09
shiftplusonerbasak: not sure if it will work in that use case.17:10
shiftplusoneBut I'll take a look17:11
rbasakIf avahi-daemon is running at both ends, I'm pretty sure a lookup will work correctly.17:11
rbasakYou need libnss-mdns installed on the system doing the lookups, but it already is installed by default on Ubuntu AFAICS.17:11
shiftplusoneEven if it's link-local connection only?17:11
rbasakCorrect.17:12
rbasakAnd link local is convenient too, because it avoids collisions.17:12
rbasakI may be wrong about this. But I believe it does work.17:12
shiftplusoneah, alright. I'll check if avahi is on that buildroot image and pass that on to the guy who does usbbootgui17:12
rbasakI don't know for certain that it does.17:12
shiftplusoneNo worries, I'll check later. Thanks.17:13
cjwatsonshiftplusone: Ah, yes, I think that possibly existing PPAs aren't cleared off disk when you deactivate an account.17:14
cjwatsonshiftplusone: The simplest thing would be to delete the PPAs, wait for a full publication cycle (say an hour, although it should be quicker than that), and re-populate everything.  But if that's difficult, you could also do trivial source uploads (i.e. suffix "build1" to all the versions) and rebuild everything17:16
cjwatsonshiftplusone: The current files are permanently unpublishable, so you'll have to do something like that.17:16
shiftplusoneSo to confirm. If I delete the PPA, wait a while and re-upload the same packages again, they will be published?17:17
cjwatsonYeah17:18
cjwatsonThis was just a weirdness around deactivating accounts17:18
cjwatson(Though in general you should expect that if you want to rebuild a package or otherwise change it in any way, you need to change its version number)17:19
shiftplusoneThanks again and sorry for creating the extra support work for you while I get the hang of it. Much appreciated.17:19
