Thedarkbdo you reckon Lubuntu will be reasonably usable with 256mb RAM and a Pentium M?17:08
ThedarkbI'm using TinyCore at the moment but the UI is a little shit.17:08
ThedarkbIf you think Lubuntu won't run well, I'll just switch to FVWM.17:10

small-dataGreetings. New to Lubuntu but not to Linux. I'm not getting along well with the Lubuntu Software Center. I search for packages that I know are there (can install from command line) and it doesn't find them. Could it be something I'm doing/not doing?18:59
wxlwe sitll have lubuntu software center on a release version? i don't think we should. it's broken.19:00
small-datawxl: 16.04.319:01
wxlwell tl;dr don't use it19:01
small-datawxl: TYVM ;-) Glad to know it's not me!19:02
small-datawxl: Is there an alternate GUI tool, or is it best to just stick to apt on the command line?19:02
wxlwell my opinion is that apt is your best bet but synaptic and gnome software are both options19:03
small-dataRight I did see Synaptic Package Manager. Thanks again19:04
small-dataLooks like there's a new application, just called "Software" in 17.10. Is that any better? I seemed to have similar issues with that, but it's on an older machine. Performance seemed pretty bad too...19:07
wxlsmall-data: i'm pretty sure that's gnome software19:14
small-datawxl: sure enough, looks like it.19:16
small-dataI do have an issue with it finding packages though.19:23
