=== BrAsS_mOnKeY is now known as william [17:08] do you reckon Lubuntu will be reasonably usable with 256mb RAM and a Pentium M? [17:08] I'm using TinyCore at the moment but the UI is a little shit. [17:10] If you think Lubuntu won't run well, I'll just switch to FVWM. === Unit193 is now known as JackFrost [18:59] Greetings. New to Lubuntu but not to Linux. I'm not getting along well with the Lubuntu Software Center. I search for packages that I know are there (can install from command line) and it doesn't find them. Could it be something I'm doing/not doing? [19:00] we sitll have lubuntu software center on a release version? i don't think we should. it's broken. [19:01] wxl: 16.04.3 [19:01] well tl;dr don't use it [19:02] wxl: TYVM ;-) Glad to know it's not me! [19:02] wxl: Is there an alternate GUI tool, or is it best to just stick to apt on the command line? [19:03] well my opinion is that apt is your best bet but synaptic and gnome software are both options [19:04] Right I did see Synaptic Package Manager. Thanks again [19:07] Looks like there's a new application, just called "Software" in 17.10. Is that any better? I seemed to have similar issues with that, but it's on an older machine. Performance seemed pretty bad too... [19:14] small-data: i'm pretty sure that's gnome software [19:16] wxl: sure enough, looks like it. [19:23] I do have an issue with it finding packages though.
