TeLLuS_Upgraded from Zesty to Artful, 4.10.0-42-generic #46-Ubuntu to 4.13.0-21  Got regression that tg3 network driver stopped working in Dell PE sc1435 server.  ETDEV WATCHDOG: enp1s0 (tg3): transmit queue 0 timed out, Host status block, NAPI info. Installed 4.13.16, 4.13.17, 4.13.19 Got same timeout as in .21.     Installed kernel 4.14.0-13 from upcomming Bionic, now it is working again..21:52
bjfTeLLuS_, pleas file a bug and them come back here and tell me what the bug number is ... thanks22:02
TeLLuS_bjf: No way, I will not go down that path again.  I'm told that it is not how launchpad works, it will be set to invalid since it is fixed unpublished version and it will then be hidden from the launchpad search. Even when I'm told it is not.  Things like that hurt my feelings and I will not work on things that gets thrown away or hidden the next second.22:38
bjfTeLLuS_, what do you mean it is "fixed unpublished version"22:50
bjfTeLLuS_, i'm not sure why you have the impression that you do. if you file the bug i will make sure someone looks at it22:51
bjfTeLLuS_, and it ill not be marked invalid. it *may* be marked as a duplicate if there is a duplicate22:52
TeLLuS_bjf: Bug is already fixed in an unpublished new version. It can be handeled diffrently by xorg developers I guess.  But I'm told in #1640456 "Here on Launchpad, that's not how it works."   I don't need anyone to look at it since I have already found the issue and the fixed next version of it.  From what I can find there is similar bugs for tg3 (Broadcom) but not the same, mostly old ones and not for only the Artful version.23:20
bjfTeLLuS_, from my perspective the response you got back in comment #6 was not helpful23:46
bjfTeLLuS_, i have little say in how xorg bugs are handled. however, if you file the tg3 network bug against the 'linux' project things will go differently i believe23:54
bjfTeLLuS_, but if you don't want to file the bug then i'll leave you alone23:55
