ourslandAny chance to get the mainline-kernel PPA's build scripts to generate the linux-tools-$ver.deb and linux-cloud-tools-$ver.deb?01:46
apwoursland, that is tricky, well cirtainly not possible for non-x86, maybe possible there08:15
oSoMoNis there an upcoming fix for bug #1699772 ? I see that this was fixed in debian kernel 4.14.2-1 (according to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=865303), and I tested 4.14.15 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.14.15/ but the problem persists15:26

jsalisburyoSoMoN, Does that bug still exist on Artful?  16:12
oSoMoNjsalisbury, I don't know, I tested on bionic only16:13
oSoMoNis there a chance it's fixed on artful?16:14
jsalisburyoSoMoN, ok, but it does exist on Bionic?  If so, I'll dig into it shortly16:14
oSoMoNyes, it definitely exists on bionic16:14
jsalisburyoSoMoN, probably not.  If it exists on Bionic, it is in Artful16:14
oSoMoNI can repro when running libreoffice autopkgtests16:14
oSoMoNor when creating a new database with libreoffice-base16:15
jsalisburyoSoMoN, Ok, I'll take a look at the bug in just a bi16:15
ourslandOkay, second question.  Running "fakeroot debian/rules clean" then "fakeroot debian/rules binary" on an unmodified v4.14.15 (possibly other versions) fails to complete building claiming that SPL and ZFS require a fully built kernel first.  Is there a suggested way to build the kernel, headers, and tools from source that won't fail?16:24
ourslandAnd third question.  Even though there's a build failure, several .deb files are generated, including the tools.  When installed, they do not go to /usr/lib/linux-tools/4.14.15-041415-generic where linux-tools-common expects them, but rather to /usr/lib/linux-tools-4.14.15-041415.  Is this an error?17:09
