[01:46] Any chance to get the mainline-kernel PPA's build scripts to generate the linux-tools-$ver.deb and linux-cloud-tools-$ver.deb? [08:15] oursland, that is tricky, well cirtainly not possible for non-x86, maybe possible there [15:26] is there an upcoming fix for bug #1699772 ? I see that this was fixed in debian kernel 4.14.2-1 (according to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=865303), and I tested 4.14.15 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.14.15/ but the problem persists [15:26] Debian bug 865303 in src:linux "libreoffice: Libreoffice Java features crash with Linux 3.16.43-2+deb8u1" [Grave,Fixed] [15:26] bug 1699772 in linux (Ubuntu) "linux-image-4.13.0-12-generic, linux-image-4.10.0-24-generic, linux-image-4.8.0-56-generic, linux-image-4.4.0-81-generic, linux-image-3.13.0-121-generic | Regression: many user-space apps crashing" [Critical,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1699772 === himcesjf_ is now known as him-cesjf [16:12] oSoMoN, Does that bug still exist on Artful? [16:13] jsalisbury, I don't know, I tested on bionic only [16:14] is there a chance it's fixed on artful? [16:14] oSoMoN, ok, but it does exist on Bionic? If so, I'll dig into it shortly [16:14] yes, it definitely exists on bionic [16:14] oSoMoN, probably not. If it exists on Bionic, it is in Artful [16:14] I can repro when running libreoffice autopkgtests [16:15] or when creating a new database with libreoffice-base [16:15] oSoMoN, Ok, I'll take a look at the bug in just a bi [16:15] bit [16:15] thanks! [16:15] np [16:24] Okay, second question. Running "fakeroot debian/rules clean" then "fakeroot debian/rules binary" on an unmodified v4.14.15 (possibly other versions) fails to complete building claiming that SPL and ZFS require a fully built kernel first. Is there a suggested way to build the kernel, headers, and tools from source that won't fail? [17:09] And third question. Even though there's a build failure, several .deb files are generated, including the tools. When installed, they do not go to /usr/lib/linux-tools/4.14.15-041415-generic where linux-tools-common expects them, but rather to /usr/lib/linux-tools-4.14.15-041415. Is this an error? === himcesjf_ is now known as him-cesjf === himcesjf_ is now known as him-cesjf
