[01:04] hi [01:04] buenass nochess [08:03] HI [08:03] QARTVELI XART VINME [10:48] Hi all, I would like to rebuild the ubuntu-mate kernel for Rpi3 from source and get the same kernel version 4.4.38. Use apt-get install kernel-source, but the Make file show that the version is 4.4.98 ! [10:48] How could I get the same source code that the original ubuntu-mate image ? [10:50] I can't find the any version 4.4.38 on launchpad in the raspi2 branche, the lastest version is linux-raspi2 4.4.0-1082.90. [10:50] Could you help me please ? [10:52] The release linux-raspi2 4.4.0-1082.90 correspond to the 4.4.98 kernel version. [10:56] Al3x: apt-get source gets the latest version [10:56] Go to launchpad and download the one you want [10:56] Btw, ubuntu-mate has no kernel,it's a desktop environment [10:57] You can ask in #ubuntu-kernel for kernel-related questions... [10:58] Launchpad keeps all builds btw [10:59] Al3x: this is the publishing history: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-raspi2/+publishinghistory [10:59] You can locate the build page and the download from there [11:05] E.g. maybe you're looking for this one: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-raspi2/4.4.0-1023.29 - the source is at the bottom [11:43] hallo there === Talikka is now known as rootmer === rootmer is now known as Kimikimis === Kimikimis is now known as Urvabara === Urvabara is now known as Talikkaf [12:14] ? [12:14] Hay alguien espaƱol? [12:47] alkisg: Thanks for you help, I found the information here https://people.canonical.com/~kernel/info/kernel-version-map.html. But the the kernel version 4.4.38 is not referenced, so the release I'm looking for is between the 4.4.0-40 and the 4.4.0-42. The 4.4.0-41 is not reference in the publishing history. [13:44] Al3x: first, better ask in #ubuntu-kernel. Second, are you sure you're looking for 4.4.38 and not 4.4.0-38? [13:46] Why the so strict requirement btw? [13:48] If it's not there in the publishing history, afaik it was never published in Ubuntu [13:48] Maybe the sources from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.4.38/ could be of use to you [15:37] alkisg, I would like to be able to build the exact kernel that the one provide raspberrypi ubuntu-mate sd card image. [15:38] The image is distributed by ubuntu mate here https://ubuntu-mate.org/raspberry-pi/ [15:39] And it is really strange that the kernel version was not aligned with a release, so it is possible that the code has some patch not applied in the mainline. [15:54] Al3x: the package in that image is: raspberrypi-firmware (1.20161215-1~xenial1.0) xenial; urgency=medium [15:54] It's not linux-image-raspi2 [15:56] Here's the build page: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-pi-flavour-makers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+sourcepub/7476907/+listing-archive-extra [17:08] Hakuna matata..!! [17:23] Is that swahili? Sounds familiar. [17:29] It's from lion king, "it means no worries" [17:56] is anyone else's network status icon both show up in the "notification area" and "indicator applet" [17:57] doge-doge, screenshot? [17:57] the indicator applets have icons with too far spacing in 17.10, I personally like previous versions [17:59] it's weird how Thunderbird gets its own applet even when it's not running... [17:59] I suggest removing that bell until new notifications are queued [18:06] you know this might be the result of me running arc-theme [23:09] alkisg: Indeed.
