RandomGuyOnIrcI have been trying to get @reboot working for cron, and I can't get it working. I have followed the instructions here: https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-execute-cron-job-after-system-reboot/00:29
RandomGuyOnIrcI added @reboot echo rebooted >> /home/otis/reboot.log via crontab -e00:30
RandomGuyOnIrcI ran update-rc.d cron defaults00:31
RandomGuyOnIrcbut when I reboot, there is nothing in reboot.log00:31
RandomGuyOnIrcdoes anyone know how to fix this?00:31
RandomGuyOnIrcmaybe this is it https://askubuntu.com/questions/335615/does-ubuntu-support-reboot-in-crontab#54964600:32
RandomGuyOnIrcI am missing the user field00:32
RandomGuyOnIrcnope, that does not work either00:34
RandomGuyOnIrcI figured it out01:04
RandomGuyOnIrcit is running the crontab before the disk is mounted01:04
RandomGuyOnIrcif I do "@reboot sleep 10; /home/otis/reboot.sh" then it works01:05
RandomGuyOnIrcwow, that was a lot of work01:05

Thedarkb-X40How can I turn off my screen from the command line/12:28
redwolfdefine "turn off"12:28
Mayberedwolf: how could I get that page on my Lubuntu 16.04? I see that it is a kind of file manager, but tat the moment I cannot see it...12:28
redwolfthat's on your file manager's preferences option12:29
Thedarkb-X40I mean disable the screen.12:29
Thedarkb-X40Switch it off.12:29
redwolfI think you can't do that, Thedarkb-X4012:30
Thedarkb-X40Fair enough.12:30
Thedarkb-X40You can set it to turn off the screen after X minutes in the power manager though.12:31
redwolfyes, but that's managed by the login manager (kind of screensaver, like phones)12:31
redwolfyou can set it to "go black" at an amount of time12:31
Mayberedwolf: I solved the problem I could not find the file manager pcmanfm. After I found it, I went to edit/preferences and found the window you indicated me. So I could tick the case "open files with a single click" and it works.12:49

lxleuser__Hello.  I have a broken boot on LXLE 14.04.5, that responds to the Lubuntu 14.04.5 live CD.  Need to recover the encrypted home.  Using sudo encrypt-recover-private I can enter password and unlock the files now.  Nothing else has worked so far to do this. The QUESTION IS... how to get the files from the HDD onto an external HDD, without using Nautilus.  PCManfm is the filemanager on the live...20:22
lxleuser__...cd.  Does anybody here have any advice?20:22
lxleuser__Note:  the external HD does not show up in the menu.20:23
zleapSorry I can't help with that20:24
