[00:29] I have been trying to get @reboot working for cron, and I can't get it working. I have followed the instructions here: https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-execute-cron-job-after-system-reboot/ [00:30] I added @reboot echo rebooted >> /home/otis/reboot.log via crontab -e [00:31] I ran update-rc.d cron defaults [00:31] but when I reboot, there is nothing in reboot.log [00:31] does anyone know how to fix this? [00:32] maybe this is it https://askubuntu.com/questions/335615/does-ubuntu-support-reboot-in-crontab#549646 [00:32] I am missing the user field [00:34] nope, that does not work either [01:04] I figured it out [01:04] it is running the crontab before the disk is mounted [01:05] if I do "@reboot sleep 10; /home/otis/reboot.sh" then it works [01:05] wow, that was a lot of work [02:19] hi guys, I'm trying to setup a new laptop with a 4k screen and the I cant get the DPI scaling working [02:19] I tried setting the QT environment variables and no joy [02:20] Also the encryption password screen is really small as well, anyone know of an easy fix [10:10] LXQt murders my machine. === Thedarkb1-X40 is now known as Thedarkb-X40 [12:03] Hello, could you tell me how to set a single click to open files in Lubuntu 16.04? I see that it is a kind of file manager, but tat the moment I cannot see it... [12:29] that's on your file manager's preferences option [12:29] I mean disable the screen. [12:29] Switch it off. [12:30] I think you can't do that, Thedarkb-X40 [12:30] Fair enough. [12:31] You can set it to turn off the screen after X minutes in the power manager though. [12:31] yes, but that's managed by the login manager (kind of screensaver, like phones) [12:31] you can set it to "go black" at an amount of time [12:49] redwolf: I solved the problem I could not find the file manager pcmanfm. After I found it, I went to edit/preferences and found the window you indicated me. So I could tick the case "open files with a single click" and it works. [12:49] thank you so much [12:49] I'm glad to hear that :) you're welcome [12:53] Thank you again. I have a broken boot on LXLE 14.04.5, that responds to the Lubuntu 14.04.5 live CD. Need to recover the encrypted home. Using sudo encrypt-recover-private I can enter password and unlock the files now. Nothing else has worked so far to do this. The QUESTION IS... how to get the files from the HDD onto an external HDD, without using Nautilus. PCManfm is the filemanager on the live... [20:22] ...cd. Does anybody here have any advice? [20:23] Note: the external HD does not show up in the menu. [20:24] Sorry I can't help with that [20:25] thanks [20:47] http://www.lxle.net/forums/
