I also had this problem with a non-beta version of KDE though. Basically my application launcher starts acting funny, and won't open the menu. Alt+F2 still works to run things though [03:53] It will be working fine but then suddenly stop working, whether I click the icon or press the super key. It MAY be related to going to sleep mode (its a laptop) [05:01] hmmm [05:02] you might ask in #plasma during euro-daytime, bodangly [05:02] I assume that you can run the launcher from a konsole and see what's happening and they can guide you about how to do that === kallesbar_ is now known as kallesbar [05:11] sure I'll try during euro daytime, thanks [07:16] Good morning === jjkp3130 is now known as Tibo [10:47] Hi folks [11:13] BluesKaj: yo dude [11:19] hi cojack , Im no dude , just an old retired guy === daniel is now known as Guest56792 [12:23] Cinci was added by: Cinci [12:24] https://t.me/spacepumpers === pan is now known as Guest20159 === olivier is now known as Guest74342 [14:03] Hello Kubuntu guys ! [14:03] It's been several times that we try to use the OEM mode in Kubuntu [14:04] to sell preinstalled Pcs With Kubuntu but it fails a lot [14:04] is this a known problem on 16.04.3 ? [14:04] THX [14:05] this? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1447144 [14:05] Launchpad bug 1447144 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) "oem-config forgets to update /etc/sddm.conf" [High,Triaged] [14:07] I have to say [14:07] that we have nbeed using Ubuntu oem-config with sucess on 16.04 [14:07] But now that some clients wants Kubuntu it fails at first start in oem-mode [14:08] freech: yes, as ubuntu does not use sddm as kubuntu does, if it is the same bug I just linked [14:08] thanks acheronuk [14:09] hoping that will be solved for 18.04 LTS [14:09] the client says that right after he entered his password choice , he got a black screen [14:10] it's a machine with Nvidia Driver installe ( Nvidia 1050 ti laptop ) [14:10] it seems the bug you are refering would cause the next reboot to fail [14:10] right. could be something else then. can you report a bug with as much info as you have? [14:10] But thanks that helps [14:10] anyway [14:11] Yes i ll open the bug anyway [14:12] Shall i open it against kubuntu-ppa ? or oem-config-kde ? [14:12] Package name [14:13] yep [14:15] yep but as we just get a blackscreen [14:15] let's say oem-config-kde then [14:16] Do you have an idea how we could finish the install anyway ? [14:16] I just want through a root shell [14:17] to get out of the oem mode [14:17] and create a user [14:23] not right now. I would have to dig into exactly where it had got to. the oem install in this respect may not differ from ubuntu (black screen aside), so maybe peeps on #ubuntu can help [14:41] Thx === daniel is now known as Guest58394 === juboxi is now known as jubo2 [16:02] https://t.me/spacepumpers [16:03] @ahoneybun ^^^ === tbarry is now known as sogolo === tbarry is now known as sogolo [16:44] ?
