vogelc@roaksoax Is there any way to add a node in to maas and allocate it to a user without having to commission and deploy it?18:07

_bladernr_roaksoax, just curious, is boot from SAN supported by MAAS?  in other words, if I have a SAN LUN configured for a HBA on my node, and I commission, if that SAN LUN appears as a block device during commissioning, can I completely install to the SAN, and then boot from it when MAAS completes deployment?18:39
_bladernr_and if so, does that require at least some local storage for grub, or can it be completely diskless (SAN only)?18:39
_bladernr_roaksoax, ^^ that's assuming, of course, that the HBA is supported in the MAAS ephemeral environment.18:40

roaksoax_bladernr_: we dont support diskless boot18:49
roaksoax_bladernr_: if, however, the machine sees that as locally attached storage and everything would be done via firwamre as is deisplayed as locally attached, it may work18:49
Hey_I have 150 physical servers, I may image 5 machines a week.  What should the specs of my physical server be?19:04
Hey_MAAS Server I mean.19:04
_bladernr_roaksoax, thanks!19:05
