[16:47] @Captain Harlock, Hi X, welcome! … https://ubports.com/page/telegram-welcome [16:57] @Archie Rombo, No. There was some debate about whether it was even theoretically possible. If it were, the phone would probably be a museum piece before the project succeeded [17:28] well, I think some could run Android, then why not? [17:32] hm, and they have kernel source for MiPad 3 now, wt [17:32] [Edit] hm, and they have kernel source for MiPad 3 now, wtf [18:08] Yes they could but linux is a bit different from android and that nokia as far as I know is discontinued [18:12] (Sticker, 512x512) https://irc.ubports.com/qLT2cv0U.webp [18:14] I'm learning a lot porting Ubuntu touch to my Tablet but I figure I need some rest now hahahhaha [18:14] NO, don't stop, keep working! [18:14] πŸ˜‚ [18:15] (Sticker, 512x512) https://irc.ubports.com/Gb2bOOlL.webp [18:35] @tone36, Android is Linux, and Ubuntu runs on top of an Android container. But it depends on how Android was running on it exactly. [18:58] I own a lumia 925 [18:58] I wish it could run ubunyu touch [18:59] I have unlocked its bootloader [18:59] Btw lumia 720 has a android rom [19:00] 520,525 also have an android rom [19:08] docs.halium.org [19:08] Make it happen. ;) [19:08] I mean [19:08] it'd be pretty useless [19:08] there's no working ril on at least the 520/525 port [19:09] What is ril?πŸ€” [19:10] Android daemon that talks to modem hardware [19:10] Okk [19:17] @Getrooted009, modem [19:17] [Edit] I wish it could run Ubuntu touch [19:31] Lumias can't be supported [19:31] until there is a normal port [19:31] of linux [19:31] to them [19:31] now there is none [19:31] that android port is a collection of hacks that work only by a miracle [19:31] yeah pretty much [19:32] Oh you're there as well? Hello~ [19:32] so no different than any other android port [19:32] Fwd from sjrmac: android4lumia RAM explanation … So here's the deal with the low ram issues currently haunting the 52X series and 720. We are based off of Sony Xperia M … It's simple, we are using the Xperia M firmware for things like modem, wifi, camera, etc. … Xperia M has 1GB of RAM, so it's obvious that the firmware was desi [19:32] gned with having the extra RAM avaliable for this. … We don't. We cannot find other firmware as this is really the best one we can have. If we modify it, the phone will … become unstable and not boot, etc. We are limited in a way we cannot control basically. This will change for other devices … in the future because with different CPU's (msm models [19:32] ), we will find other devices to base off of and that device may have … differently sized firmware that uses +/- more or less RAM. It all really depends off of the base device. [19:33] This is beyond normal hacks [19:33] Those are high hacks [19:33] But I can understand that [19:33] hence there's no mainline support at all [19:33] and no generic firmware [19:35] Wow [19:36] That's pretty bad... [19:36] And that's from us... The Libhybris adapters. :P [19:37] Yeah I need to git gud at low-level debugging [19:37] LIke my X Play has a problem on hybris-13.0 [19:38] a very big problem [19:38] no init, just rebooting [19:38] so fast I can't even lock it in init debugging mode [19:38] (that's for sailfish, but hybris is same/almost same everywhere so it's a strange bug to me) [19:41] @Ismaelbonato, Less sleep. More port. [19:45] πŸ˜‚ [19:49] @wayneoutthere, No [20:01] Anyone know the provision of a ubuntu version that supports nexus5x?
