[00:20] <drleviathan> copy the password from /etc/shadow into /mountpoint/etc/shadow
[00:21] <drleviathan> similarly for the /etc/shadow- file

[00:23] <drleviathan> "liveCD" = bootable CD.  You boot the system on the CD, don't install
