=== ogra_` is now known as ogra_ [19:38] mamarley, hi, regarding your testing with xserver 1.20, did you try 396.18.05 yet? [19:38] ricotz: Didn't even know that was out. Thanks for letting me know, I will give it a shot. [19:39] ok, maybe they fixed something [19:40] tjaalton, hi, did you get to vulkan 1.1.73 yet? [19:41] I've had *lots* of people emailing me about how 396 causes problems with KDE Plasma, but I haven had any trouble. *shrug* [20:04] ricotz: Nope, still the black screen and GLX loading failure. The error I get is "[ 4.571] (EE) Not enabling extension GLX: maximum number of events or errors exceeded." [20:08] ok :( [20:10] 1.20 has been problematic for my hardware. Obviously NVIDIA won't work yet and one of my Intel systems won't work in multimonitor mode with it (I get constant page flip resource allocation failures and flickering screens). [20:10] I have a bug open about that but it hasn't seen much attention. [20:13] I se [20:13] e [20:14] I don't dare to test it yet ;) [20:15] It isn't too bad to test. In the worst case, I just roll back to 1.19.6 and it works again. [20:15] It isn't like testing kernels where one bug in the wrong place can corrupt your disk. :P [20:23] I guess NVIDIA's GLX module has some incompatibility with 1.20. I just hope they go ahead and fix it in 396 instead of waiting for the next major release. [20:31] ricotz: Oh, and someone in another channel randomly posted a solution to the problem of having so many more packages to install when testing the new-style NVIDIA packaging: "sudo apt install --only-upgrade ../path/to/package_arch.changes". That will automatically upgrade all installed packages using the built packages. [20:35] ricotz: nope [20:49] mamarley, nice [20:49] tjaalton, ok, hoping you will soon :)
