[02:24] hello everyone! [03:19] Hello all! I'm starting to use Ubuntu Mate as my secondary distro and really loving it. [03:20] I particularly love the panel layout templates. Saves a lot of setup time to make it look just how you want it! [03:20] And they're also just fantastic layouts. I may not change them much at all! [03:21] But I do have a hopefully quick question: is there a built-in way to have a notification history applet? [03:52] pidgin is a little prettier [03:53] Oops wrong window. [03:53] I got disconnected; no one happened to answer a question I had about whether UM 18.04 has a notifications history applet, did they? [04:09] nope [11:48] Hello! I instales UM in a computer than had a Win10 system instaled. No problems during instalation ans no error messages. I chossed to use a partition ans use Gurb to select on boot, but it boots always on Win10. Can anybody helpme_.Thank you! [11:51] mate|47919, do you get grub when booting? [11:52] I think so, but if i check on GParted I can-t see Gurb [11:53] what do you see when you boot pc? does it give you options like ubuntu, windows and so on? [11:54] It goes directly to win [11:55] No options [11:56] Can i install gurb if Ubuntu is already instaled? [11:56] then you did not install it properly [11:56] what partitions did you make? [11:57] I did all in defaul opcions [11:58] what was the default? install ubuntu alongside windows or what? [11:59] yes [11:59] now i have the folowing... [11:59] maybe you should do manual partitioning? [11:59] choose something else [12:01] Probably the best is to try again from zero, it was for untherstanding. Thank you very much for your time. === nan is now known as Guest11989 [12:13] any bots? [12:19] that's different - guest bot looking for mates :) [12:34] doing a release upgrade to 18.04 lets see how this goes ;) [12:35] TaZeR, don't do it! It's rubbish! I'm lying btw! [12:35] do it [12:36] whew ok [12:36] :) [12:37] i expect you will take full responcbility if all my files become corrupted [12:37] of course [12:38] because I know you've got backups [12:38] [you have got backups, haven't you?] [12:39] * SuperEngineer advises ignoring SuperEngineer... [12:40] * SuperEngineer has always got backups... but never needed to them [12:41] s/them/use them [12:42] baaack-upz? [12:42] ofcourseido! [12:42] :D [12:42] but im afraid to use them [12:44] It's like, "I have a perfect escape plan come the Zombie takeover"... I really hope it never needs a real test. [12:45] i also feel like a restored system loses its soul [12:45] being a clone [12:45] :D [12:46] fwiw... if you have an altenative b/up method to an alternative storage, you try a restore from original location to check aok... while having a different "failsafe" [12:47] ...but the zombies, oh! the zombies! [12:48] * SuperEngineer has no alternative plan [12:48] Zombies..... erghhhh! [12:50] hi all. this is my first day on a linux distro [12:51] looking forward to joining the community [12:52] i just elimated my screen tearing problem on my amd card [18:16] Is there a conky-manager or similar for 18.04? [19:01] I need help [19:01] i can't get this to boot fom a usb [19:02] i tryed adding the command to the config but seems like nothing is working === lorenzo is now known as Guest5381 [20:45] Hi all, 18.04 clean install, does not recognize the password I set, have tried caps lock and entered the same password but on a us layout, any ideas on what to try before I just reinstall? cheers [20:47] sorted thanks [22:10] hi
