diddledandaftykins: IT'S ALIVE!12:08
diddledanseems the PSU was faulty12:08
zmoylan-pia nice result for a friday...12:09
diddledanyey for amazon prime 1day delivery :-p12:09
diddledanso I spoke too soon. The PSU managed to kill the BIOS on it's way out by the looks.16:26
diddledanthe board sits there at "initializing system" the text it shows before it enters the main POST routine16:26
diddledanthe good news is the board itself seems fine, apart from the BIOS. The IPMI all works correctly now, where with the old PSU after death it wouldn't even respond to ping16:27
diddledanand the voltages are all normal - it looks like there was a "Main Bus B Undervolt" (ATX+5VSB)16:28
diddledanbasically I read it as the PSU was sending about 4.2V instead of 5V16:29
zmoylan-pireflash the bios?16:36
diddledandoesn't get far enough to be able to do so via software16:38
diddledanI guess I should look to see if I can get a chip writer or to see if I can hook JTAG to the board16:39
diddledanor I could just spend a tenner and get a preprogrammed one: www.biosflash.com/e/Bios-Chips-ASROCK-C2750D4I-4399.htm16:42
