[05:23] https://cybre.space/@vi/100142961366826694 === obscurehero_ is now known as obscurehero [11:02] good morning [11:16] mornin' [13:26] TIL this exists https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penny_Arcade_Adventures:_On_the_Rain-Slick_Precipice_of_Darkness [13:26] Good morning #ubuntu-us-mi [13:54] Good morning, has everyone moved to GitLab yet? [13:56] working on it. [13:56] arguing hte evils of MSFT in ##csharp, cuz I"m insane and I am reading even more about Eric Lundgren [13:56] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaoJErxYLtM so many points here that I didn't even think of. [13:56] It has made me EVEN MORE ANGRY about the Eric Lundgren case. [13:57] #freelundgren [13:58] "microsoft is abusing the power of the government to put people in jail for the sole reason that they made products easier to service." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaoJErxYLtM [14:02] yup, one side of the company is embracing open source while the other is still M$ as usual [14:08] wait... they are making Nat the CEO of GH? wow! good for him! [14:09] sometimes I regret not taking the job when Nat called me up and tried to recruit me :( [14:15] Yeah [14:17] My dad regrets not taking the job at a pizza place his friends was opening in 1973 and went to work for GM instead. [14:17] My dad didn't think anyone would buy pizza from a place called Hungry Howie's Pizza [14:17] Good morning [14:19] Morning cmaloney is all your code moved away from GitHub before the terms and conditions change? :) [14:19] Not really. They can have it [14:19] If they can get piddlepodder to work better more power to them [14:25] flipsidecreation: I still won't buy from Hungry Howie's. The pizza is nasty. [14:27] They are ok, not great but ok [14:27] oh, then I won't try it. Its the only thing near me that I've never had. [14:54] They're work a try. I'm not sure how their pizza is now, but they were the first to do the flavored crust schtick [14:54] that I'm aware of [15:07] <_stink_> we get hungry howie's all the time [15:07] <_stink_> but uh it's not fancy [15:07] nope, it's edible [15:07] <_stink_> it's little caesars + 1 [15:08] that is accurate [15:23] TY for this evaluation. I shall continue to pass and if I want flavored crust, I will add it to Jets that I get :) [15:27] Jets is much better [16:05] Jets is decent [16:20] ah yeah, Jet's is who I had in Chelsea [16:49] Sadly Jet's Pizza doesn't go that far AFAICT [18:41] now that it's confirmed I'm updating all my repos and then deleting my account. Never really did use it anyway other than to clone stuff so it's super easy for me. Saw a tutorial though for those of you moving to GitLab on youtube [18:46] Little Ceaser's < Hungry Howie [18:46] s < Jets [18:47] Jets is on par with Domino's and Pizza Hut [18:47] Then you get Green Lantern, and Pizza House which is my current favorite over in Ann Arbor [18:48] Dominos is akin to taking the box and putting the pizza toppings on it [18:48] that's how they are so affordable [18:48] Pizza House is DAMN GOOD [18:48] its $$$ though. Definitely a rare treat compared to others. [18:49] Ann Arbor thing? [18:49] cmaloney: dominos can be good, but you have to know how to order it. [18:49] Pizza House is in Ann Arbor and Lansing. [18:49] jrwren: Right. [18:49] If you're ordering Dominos here's a simple checklist [18:49] 1) Don't [18:49] no no no. [18:49] 2) Throw out that number and order literally anything else. [18:50] my guide to ordering dominos: 1> 12" (medium) pan. 2> heavy sauce (its free) [18:50] that is it. [18:52] to be fair, I haven't had Domino's in a very long time. I just remember it was edible [18:52] That's fait praise [18:52] faint [18:52] I wasn't really praising it [18:53] if anything I just like the delivery car [18:53] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTP5UtOYOds [18:54] a couple yrs ago Dominos redid everything. [18:54] It could be that because I live in AA where dominos is HQ that it is better here. [18:55] in fact, my lcoal dominos is the closest branch location to the HQ. [18:55] so maybe I just get the good qwuality while everyone else suffers. [18:55] and when I don't get the pan with heavy sauce, I'm always disappointed, but the pan with heavy sauce makes for a great foundation. [18:56] If you're in A2 you should get PH because PH < every goddamn thing except for that one inn I went to up in Eagle Harbor in the U.P. and that might just be on par [18:57] eh, I would, but PH is liek 4X the price. [18:57] yeah, for a reason [18:57] usually I want 2 pizza for $12-14, not $30. [18:58] I'd take out a loan from a guy named Fat Tony to get that pizza [18:58] lol [18:58] dammit, now i'm realizing its been at least a year since I've had PH. [18:58] I may have to get some soon. [18:58] and he'd understand why because he'd be fat from eating all the Pizza House pizza [18:58] <_stink_> i eat cheap pizza all the time [18:58] they other thing cool about PH is they deliver until 4am or something crazy like that. [18:59] <_stink_> little caesars [18:59] <_stink_> you snobs :P [18:59] Necto is tonight, I may end up there before hand [19:00] Oh I forgot Happy's Pizza too, which exists below dog food [19:01] when I think happy's I want the cheap ribs :p [19:09] _stink_++ [19:12] rick_h_: oh damn! gopkg.in/mgo.v2 is deprecated and unsupported? is juju and charmstore moving to a diff library? is that rough? [19:19] Where are you seeing that it is unsuported / deprecated? [19:23] follow through to the github repo [19:30] is there a central gitlab server or is it mostly host your own? [19:32] wow, old place of work is prominent on the gitlab page - too bad my group wasn't using it [19:32] gitlab.com [19:33] it's open core, so a ton of people just use the main offering [19:33] but gnome and debian are notable in that they run their own instances [19:33] as long as Nat is CEO of github, I'll continue to trust them. [19:33] hell, I trust them even more now. [19:35] heh [19:35] so, does "startup" now just mean "any company that is actively looking to be bought out for the right price"? [19:35] My biggest concern is they're going to try to make money on github [19:35] yes [19:35] and as someone who worked for Sourceforge that is a rather dubious path [19:36] cmaloney: GH already makey money. 200M+ in revenue [19:36] And they owe how much to VCs? [19:36] they have sold GH enterprise for many years now. [19:36] to MS :) [19:36] They might be profitable, but I think they took on a lot of debt to get there [19:37] hence the MS acquisition [19:41] hopefully it will improve git (and version control in general) adoption throughout many industries where it was lacking before [19:41] imporantdoc_latest.doc [19:41] imporantdoc_new_latest.doc [19:42] imporantdoc_newer_latest.doc [19:42] gets old fast [19:43] the only solution to that problem (shittily versioned text docs that Communications etc people create) is google docs [19:43] sadly [19:43] I should add "... that I found" [19:45] that is a good solution. office could come with git and have settings to allow for saving + committing, pushing etc [20:55] my query aggregates and windowing function knowledge isn't good enough. [20:55] I have a table that has user_pk and creation_time of referals that a sales person has referred customers to. I'm trying to find the right aggregates and window functions to group them so that the query results are ordered by the first, second, third, etc sales person to refer some count N during a threashold of time, creation time between start/end. [20:59] jrwren: well mongo is finally putting together an official go client [20:59] jrwren: so one day I expect us to move to that, but it's still alpha [20:59] jrwren: so not sure [21:51] Seems a little premature to deprecate the old library if the official one isn't ready [21:51] I mean, this isn't JavaScript
