[03:15] hi... Installing Ubuntu Studio at this moment. [03:16] Done! I'll re-boot my machine. [13:44] WHy does clock disappear after setting it? [14:05] which clock setting how? [14:05] Sorry that was two questions [14:06] which clock has gone and how did you set it? [14:06] I am thinking I have never set my clock. [14:07] So long as the system is connected to network on install, and the time zone is correct, my clock is correct. [14:18] The panel clock [14:18] I set it in properties [14:18] Well, the clock settings dialog technically [14:18] I must have a different clock ... [14:18] Oh, I keep getting error that NTP needs installed and configured. I installed it, used colmmand-line to configure it. [14:19] I am using default [14:19] I _thought_ I was too. [14:19] How do I find out which one I'm using? [14:20] Anyway, if you use the settings manager and set u0p the panel, you should be able to add the clock back to it. [14:20] there is a tab called Items [14:21] OKay. I now have a clock [14:21] and a button with a + in it. About the 3rd or 4th down is a clock. [14:22] I guess you found it. [14:23] Oh great now all teh other indicators are in the middle of the panel [14:23] That is probably the clock you had before as it does have a time setting in it. [14:23] How do I revert panel settings? [14:23] the pannel set up has arrow buttons. [14:24] go to the item you want to move [14:24] then use the arrow buttons to move them up or down. [14:25] My list from top to bottom (won't be the same as yours probably) [14:26] is:menu, window buttons, separator, notification area, indicator, weather, separator, clock, separator, workspace switcher, separator, action buttons, cpu freq monitor. [14:27] I think if you click on the first separator after window buttons and look at it's properties, it should have "expand" checked. [14:28] I figured out what I did. I had to add another panel [14:28] It's the part with power settings, sound, mail, and battery status that I want to move [14:29] That should be the indicator plugin. [14:30] used to be called ssystray [14:30] *systray [14:31] Well arrow keys don't put it back [14:31] Is there a separator before it? [14:33] Yes [14:33] Found it! I had to expand the seperator [14:33] is that separator set to expand? [14:38] :) [14:40] Yeah. [14:40] It is one of those things I have to relearn every time I install. [14:41] lol [14:41] It's not very intuitive [14:41] panels are something to set once and forget. [14:41] no it's not. [14:42] Thanks for the help [14:42] but from a prgaming point of view, there are not a lot of ways to do that. [14:42] That would have taken me a few retirements to figure out [14:42] you are welcome [14:43] I use Ubuntu Studio, yet I don't use any creative tools. lol [14:43] I installed it so I could edit/create audio, but haven't learned any of hte software
