=== sorinello1 is now known as sorinello [03:47] hello [03:47] any one people in here? [03:47] fuck [06:52] hi! My laptop has this issue where the PgUp & PgDn, which I rarely use, have their own dedicated keys, but to do Home and End, which i use regularly, I need to do Fn+PgUp and Fn+PgDn [06:52] is there any way to swap that functionality around? [06:53] some laptops allow Fn lock to be setup by default in BIOS/EFI [06:54] but that would cause problems for all the other Fn keys that I don't want to use? [06:55] don't want to use by default, I mean [06:58] systemd-udevd consuming 98% cpu [06:59] installed xubuntu 18.04 systemd-udevd consuming 98% cpu [07:00] xubuntu_DD: reboot [07:00] did it. same problem [07:01] what devices you have got attached to it? also how many HDDs? [15:15] Hey there. So, I have a shitty tablet that came with Win 8 and I installed Xubuntu onto it. (Trust me, it was annoying, because the EFI on this thing only wanted to boot up 32bit efi loaders) [15:18] Anyways, most stuff works fine out of the box. Only thing that doesn't work (and I kinda care about) is a way to lock and turn off the screen when pressing the power button and audio playback doesn't work, the system defaults to trying to play back audio through the HDMI connection instead of the internal speakers, they both get detected just fine, just having trouble making the system use the internal speakers. Any help? <3 [15:18] the webcam also doesnt seem to work, but I don't really care about that. :D [16:03] hello duke, setting default audio device in pavucontrol doesn't work? [16:12] and you can probably disable HDMI audio controller in the last tab [20:36] Hey guys [20:36] I just want to ask [20:36] why did you drop the i386 support for god sake [20:36] ?? [20:36] We have older machines there folks [20:37] why you didn't ask the users before [20:37] Slown: umm - what are you talking about? [20:37] Xubuntu drops the i386 support [20:37] right - I'd love to know where it says that [20:38] on a blog about ubuntu [20:38] and it specifically says that we're dropping support? [20:38] njot Ubuntu - Xubuntu [20:39] no i386 iso, I mean not this version [20:39] but the next one 17.10 [20:39] shame on you folks [20:39] that's outrageous [20:39] that's Ubuntu [20:39] not us [20:39] sort out who you are talking to [20:39] Ubuntu ? [20:39] this is a channel for Xubuntu [20:39] why lxde keep the the support then ? [20:40] I mean lubuntu [20:40] for the moment - the same reason that we are [20:40] so if anyone has an ol [20:40] old pc [20:40] he gonna throw it, that's it ? [20:40] it is also extremely likely that when either Lubuntu or Xubuntu decides to drop it - then so will the other [20:41] flocculant, are you a man or a woman ? [20:41] I suggest you read what I've said rather than just randomly chucking rubbish around [20:41] I'm serious man [20:41] if you want to talk about Ubuntu - then go do so in an Ubuntu channel [20:42] and I'm serious about you reading what I said [20:42] we have 32 bit iso's [20:42] I'm just asking to know if you are a man or a woman [20:42] I don't a woman to hear my curses xD [20:42] why? [20:42] because I'm a gentleman :D [20:42] most of the women I know would likely have you wishing they'd not started [20:43] seems that what you actually are is someone unable to read [20:43] unable to read, why did sou say so man ? [20:44] I tell you my take on 32 bit - rarely does anyone test it when it's needed [20:44] like now for instance [20:44] that's not a reason man [20:45] what you gonna do with an old pc for god sake [20:45] you gonna throw it ? [20:45] would you drive a Model T Ford? [20:45] just answer me dude [20:45] anyway - busy testing Xubuntu Iso's now [20:45] don't ask me a question, I asked you one [20:45] that's already enough [20:46] so - Xubuntu isn't, currently, dropping 32 bit. But in time we will. [20:46] yeah from the 17.10 version [20:46] nope [20:46] flocculant, you work with the dev team ? [20:46] I'm actually testing 32 bit 18.04.1 [20:46] you are a nice guy btw [20:46] just give a high five to this guy :D [20:47] we are still building 32 bit Iso's for what will be 18.10 [20:47] what did I said [20:47] Ubuntu dropped it - so did Mate, Kubuntu, Budgie [20:47] 18.10 version sorry [20:47] nopw [20:47] the next one [20:47] you are wrong [20:47] don't say that man [20:47] my gf is here [20:47] http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/390/builds/177729/testcases [20:47] I don't want to be embarassed [20:48] I suggest you get her to read what you've been saying - so she can tell you all the times you've been wrong [20:48] byw [20:48] bye [20:48] haha you're a mean guy dude [20:48] we are just discussing man, no hard feelings [20:49] indeed I am mean ;) [20:49] I'm the QA Lead and one of the Council just so you know that I do in fact know what I'm talking about :) [20:50] Nice to meet you man [20:50] anyway - seriously I am testing for the 18.04.1 release for thursday - you too [20:50] don't believe everything you read in the interwebs [20:50] :D [20:50] that's a great advice [20:50] you are right [20:51] All hail flocculant! [20:51] btw, I'm using budgie and mate on my other computers [20:51] sinner [20:51] but not 32 bit soon ... [20:51] nomenon: hah [20:51] I have and old pc with an intel core processor [20:51] nomenon, I remember you [20:51] a very nice dude [20:51] very funny [20:51] that actually doesn't have 64 bit capability? [20:51] yay! [20:51] how are you man ? [20:52] anyway [20:52] i am well thanks, and your self? [20:52] good thank you very much [20:52] if you two just want to chat - can you take it to #xubuntu-offtopic [20:52] flocculant, I have an eeepc with alpine 32bit on it [20:52] irluvit [20:52] ouch [20:52] so next time flocculant when you meet the team [20:52] ask them [20:53] Slown: really? [20:53] why not ? [20:53] and I want to ben on board too [20:53] how about you watch for the next time we have a COMMUNITY meeting - and come along to it [20:53] did you stream your meetings ? [20:53] nope - irc [20:53] on irc ? [20:54] no real meetings ? [20:54] Slown: actually hang on a moment [20:54] omg that's sounds awful [20:54] it's like dating a girl on internet [20:54] where are you from btw ? [20:57] https://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2018/05/15/%23xubuntu-devel.html#t20:25 [20:57] is when we last discussed 32 bit iso's [20:57] and the uk [21:28] Thanks a lot to everyone solving the "eject USB stick" problem when using Thunar! === Israphel is now known as Guest28455 === Israphel_ is now known as Israphel
