czajkowskiknightwise: hows things?09:12
knightwiseDoing ok, trying to get my head around the problemsn and technology involving chatbots and AI for a project at work09:45
knightwiseinteresting stuff to see how smart and how dumb computers are at the same time09:46
zxmoy-pismart a.i., real dumb :-)10:13
knightwiseyes indeed10:59
daftykinsknightwise: ah i had a comment regarding your X forwarding question yesterday, the better plan would be if you have something like a Pi running 24/7 you could make use of ZNC to keep your own IRC instance going, then you can use GUI clients like Hexchat to connect into that instance whichever computer you're on - if that's of any use12:22
daftykinsi've never tried it though, just have friends who use it - i'm still using the ancient screen + irssi combo12:22
zxmoy-pii did look at setting up the pi as an irc bouncer earlier but the configuration instructions for the software was... not great...12:27
zxmoy-piso irssi it is :-)12:28
daftykinsopen source standard then ;)12:28
* daftykins ducks12:28
zxmoy-pinah, even open source can be counted on for rambling blogs or instructions good enough. but irc bouncer felt more like, here's the binary, good luck o/12:29
zxmoy-pii suspect the user group is so small that it hasn't gotten that far yet12:29
daftykinswas that its' actual name? because i'm pretty sure ZNC would be easy12:29
marxjohnsondoes x2go have an option to keep your session alive when you disconnect?  I may have imagined that though.12:30
zxmoy-pii looked at 2-3 irc bouncers... irssi has the capablity too but i ended up just using it as a console based irc client12:31
daftykinshonestly, forwarding a whole GUI app instead of something like ZNC is wholly wasteful12:31
daftykinsplus the experience would suffer greatly12:31
zxmoy-pibandwidth is cheap... :-)12:31
daftykinsno it's not, when mobile12:31
zxmoy-pibut it would irk me to connect via a remote desktop option when it should just be forwarding text...12:32
daftykinsand it's latency that'd matter12:32
daftykins'xactly12:32
zxmoy-pissh is forwarding text.... :-)12:32
daftykinsnobody disputed that12:36
daftykinsand you can claim that random blogs and what not help spread info on things but more often than not they contain really bad practices :D12:36
zxmoy-pitrue, but they often can be the software configuration version of youtube unboxing videos12:37

daftykinsdiddledan: what a load of ship13:09

zxmoy-piotherwise we'll be to hull and back...13:46
